Hey everyone,

didn't know if I should start a new post on this, but I do not know if it's AoS, HH, or 40k related.

1. Before AoS was released, all GW reps had to spend a few days training on the new product.
2. Last week, all GW reps had to spend a few days training on the Betrayal at Calth.
3. My source (check my rumor tracking for my accuracy rating btw) has informed me that GW reps are going to spend several days next week training for something new. I do not know if it is a big supplement or what system it is for, just that the only time the GW reps go to training in the last year have been only to learn and demo AoS and to learn and demo Horus Heresy. This is the third time they are going for training to learn and demo something, and I do not know what it is.

Mods, feel free to roll this into another topic if it is more appropriate.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Correction: new training for GW reps is THIS FRIDAY.

It could just be a new wave of BaC-related product (maybe the next game in the cycle, like Battle of Phall giving us MkIII armor, yay), or just some pre-holiday prep training.

That is entirely possible. However, considering the rarity of GW rep training, and what specifically it has been for in the past, I thought it worth posting.

If these trainings are within a week or so of the actual big release, it probably would be this guy, no?

Spoiler:

Or it's generic "christmas-trade-training"`?

I think it's fair to say, given the actual content of the posts you're responding to, that they don't get called in for training on a fething model.

GW releases models every week, they'd have literally no time for anything but travelling backwards and forwards to HO to look at sprues.

It's very rare that GW takes all of the reps - all the store reps for FLGS all over the world btw - and gives them a full day off for training, thereby allowing no trade accounts the ability to place an order with their rep on that day.

"And what about all those rumors on the interwebs?"
......Sir! What's an interwebs?"

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

Yeah, I totally agree. If there's training, either it's a significant new product and they want to teach them how to sell it, or it's training not specific to any product at all.

Besides, what would the training be for one new model? Here are the rules. Here's the model. Paint one. Go ye forth and sell!

I don't think the paint line changes are nearly significant enough to warrant any kind of training. Nor the new, mostly repacked models that we know about.

Well, in regards to Archaon I can't see them releasing him without major fanfare and an accompanying campaign. He's just too big of a part of the setting.

Could it be some sort of emergency training for AoS, given what we've heard about management blaming stores for low sales?

These aren't the store employees but rather the trade sales reps.

That certainly could be. I wonder if more rules for AiD could be coming out. Perhaps with actual points values.

Ah. I take it they demo new games to FLGS employees then?

I honestly don't know. If I would have to guess? I would assume they get a knowledge of the game so that they can make suggestions to the independents as to how to showcase the game, what they might want to buy in order to support the game, etc.

Going waaay back to a whole bunch of rumours from Hastings/Harry (one or both) at the start of the year, which I believe accurately precicted AoS, AdMech, Harlequins and 30k, wasn't there something about a Deathwatch/Genestealer Skirmish game? Assuming this training is for a new game, that would be the likely candidate.

It is said to be mostly Age of Sigmar products until next year - after the Tau-Campaign book Mont'ka.

So maybe AoS-related like the new Realm of Battle Boards and scenery?

A new table with brand-new AoS terrain pieces is going to be unveiled at Warhammer World on November 28.

If that is the case, I wonder how that would come about. The Genestealers would probably either be just the regular GW Genestealers or the Space Hulk Genestealers. But there is any number of ways the Deathwatch could go. Probably would be a box of Sternguard and a little sprue of Deathwatch shoulder pauldrons.

That is correct. The trade sale reps assist FLGS and others in ordering, what volume of products, and informing of sales trends. The trade reps form a relationship with the stores so they can recommend products based on previous sales as well as tailor special order packages to certain stores and/or offer various terms depending on a store's account history.

Used to be that way. But now they really just take orders. My sales rep is rarely if ever given info about anything not coming out in the next week, or is trained so well that he can fake ignorance. I get my information on new product coming from GW by reading Dakka. They can't do much else to assist stores. They don't have any info. GW runs no events, does no advertising, sponsors no tournaments.

I get a call, i order product, it usually makes it to me by the end of the week. That's my relationship with GW these days.

The Deathwatch vs Genestealer Cult board game is definitely coming. Sad Panda confirmed it will be the next boardgame. He said it wouldn't arrive till 2016 though.

That's gonna be an insta-buy for me! Genestealer Cult!!!!

For this one? I am thinking something big is coming with Archaon. Maybe an official comp system for AoS?

Good rumour - we know that new Blood Bowl plastics have been completed since sometime in 2013/2014, and GW have a roughly 2 year development cycle so have been sitting on them for a while. Could it be that Blood Bowl is getting a relaunch to try and spark the AoS universe a bit more? Blood bowl set in the AoS universe would be quite interesting as it is one thing where I think the fluff could actually be better than the WHFB fluff which always bugged me a bit where teams had free access to major stadiums in major cities of enemy factions - it was all a bit extreme on the suspension-of-disbelief stakes. As much as blood bowl can fit into any sort of construct of course

Hastings (Man, it feels weird to write that! Anyone who knows me IRL knows why! ) already gave a the lowdown on what happened to BB in a thread on Warseer.

Hastings on Warseer wrote:There was a planned limited release of BB a while back, IIRC there were 4 teams done in plastic all individual models, however with the failure of Dreadfleet it was scrapped (or so I was told). Just another example of GWs stupidity, by equating that because "Dreadfleet" didn't sell then "Blood Bowl" wouldn't???? Well done GW because they are very equatable products, 1 being a NEW game that didn't even have the 2 opposing fleets like Man O War used to as opposed to a game with a very large fanbase still played the world over! like I said before ... finger on the pulse?

The way I understood what I was told the BB set could be played like a regular game of BB OR as kind of a campaign where a human team (1 of the 4 in box teams) played against the other 2 and then went on to face the Chaos All Stars in the final. Not sure how it would have worked but that's how it was explained to me. IIRC the teams were humans, orcs, elves and Chaos All Stars. I don't know how far along the project got as I had conflicting accounts of how many teams etc. etc. but I feel it was a hugely missed opportunity. Indeed it could have been very popular, can you imagine plastic boxes of BB teams, plastic multi part stadiums etc. etc. but nope, seems it's sadly not to be. Not to worry too much, you can get wonderful custom made pitches from F-F Fields (like my Chaos Dwarf Zufbar Ziggurats pitch) and many excellent teams from some awesome companies. GWs loss.

I don't even KNOW anymore.

I'd be surprised to see a Blood Bowl game come from modern GW. Its comical, light-hearted nature would seem to be really at odds with AoS's po-faced background.

But surely everyone knows that Dreadfleet didn't sell because of the models? I mean, who buys a game because of the rules?!?! It makes perfect sense that Bloodbowl wouldn't sell because you can't stick the models in Warhammer armies, just like Dreadfleet. The rules is meaningless to a game, just sheets of paper with funny squiggles, that every true GW customer ignores. Buying the models just for the sake of buying them is the thing.

Rules.

Pff.

I'm sooo, sooo sorry.
