The fates have delivered to my door (the fates and the postal service, I must say...) a bounty of gorgeous Raging Heroes miniatures, and I'll be getting my hands on another bunch of them once they start shipping out their TGG2 figures...

In short, it's going to be an inquisitorial band with some battle sisters and some astra militarum auxiliaries. (And what I find fantastic is that I'll also be using Cypher and his fallen in both this and my chaos army, how very Cypher... )
For now I have the AM part, and some inquisitorial henchmen, and the sororitas part will come later, as will the Inquisitors themselves...

The fluff behind the concept involves a radical inquisitor who is a former Battle Sister and who applies the Decree Passive scrupulously, there are no 'men under arms' in her warband, only women. I find this wording loophole so amazingly stupid that I can't help but play with it. (I always found it to be a cheap trick in The Lord of The Rings, when Eowyn kills the Nazgûl... )

The non-fluff reason is that I really like the Raging Heroes minis, and I want to use a whole army's worth of them...

So here is my first trooper, ready to be painted:


And here she is, alongside a Cadian guard and a howling banshee, to give an idea of the scale of these raging heroes (oh, and the paint on those is not by me, by the way, it's just figures I pulled out of my boxes of stuff I bought used...



As you see, size-wise she's very generic-human-in-40k-size, but her built is much more slender i.e. she's not 'heroic' proportioned with thick limbs and a big head. I also have their assassin figure and that thing is very tiny... They are going to be a challenge to paint, that is for sure... I'll have to take a picture of the girls next to the space marines I'm going to use for Cypher and his Fallen, the difference in bulk looks just right in that case, making the Space Marines look properly huge...

I've been building the squad...

Here are the girls, they are going to be a squad of AM veterans, with a heavy flamer, a plasma gun and a melta gun. Sargent with a plasma pistol and a powersword...

The first trooper is done, I feel, although maybe I'll touch her up once I've done the rest of the squad...

Here she is next to my converted Cypher...

I've been washing resin and assembling miniatures...

Here are a few of my characters:

A Sniper, who will likely be part of the command squad, a vindicare assassin (she is tiny!), the commissar, and the commander.



I still have four psykers, six servitors, a mechanicum adept, and ten tempestus scions to build, along with a master of ordnance... This will conclude the first wave of this army, the second coming when Raging Heroes start shipping the minis of their TGG2 kickstarter...

In the back you see three repentias, and I also have a penitent engine (missing its legs, sadly...) that will likely be the only GW miniatures in the army...

Next step will be painting all of those ladies...

This is so different from what I think GW has envisioned "their" game to go.

Today I got my first inquisitor, the female inquisitor miniature from "Another world".

She is just as finely built as the Raging Heroes girls, Her right hand is holding a somewhat unimpressive sword, I guess that I'll use some of the arms left over from my raging heroes to give her something a bit more... impressive...
