Hey folks,
I'm working on a project just now and need a list of races and characters that HAD MINIATURES that were removed from the game/background/codex completely - not even their death noted. Is there such a list somewhere or could we whip something up here? The miniatures must have been available on general release.

Races
- Squats ... (obviously the majority suffered death by tyranid but stragglers are out there)
- Zoats
- Ambull

Characters
- Sly Marbo from IG
- Al'Rahem from IG
- Chenkov from IG
- Kruellagh from DE
- Redemptor Kyrinov from SoB
- Ephrael Stern From SoB (partially included as not widely available and never had rules... as far as I can tell)
- Brother Bethor from DA
- Zodgrod Wartsnagga from RT Orks
- The Nightbringer from Necrons
- The Deceiver from Necrons

Nope, it's just races and named characters at the moment but I think touching on the IP changes for continuing factions and their impacts would be good for a second round.

Yup, All had minis and are either assumed alive or were never mentioned again..

Xavier (He's a salamander, right?) and Doom Rider still exist in the fluff.

Also, I would like to point out that Sly Marbo wasn't removed from 40k; it was 40k that was removed from Sly Marbo.

Doom rider had rules, but then was removed from the codex as a playable character. Guess I misinterpreted the thread. well at least i got Kyrinov right then.

Kyrinov - Yeah had mini and rules never heard from again
Stern - Had mini, never had rules though so yeah .... sort of counts?
Doom rider - Had mini but his head is on Chogoris, effectively dead
Chaplain Xavier - Had mini but dead in fluff

I wrote a huge list of Characters that are not in the rules anymore til I re-read that they had models.

Did you mean that the characters had rules but never had models a-la Lady Malys, Sgt Bastonne etc...?

yeah, like Wazzdakka, saint praxedes, Cardinal Armandus, Helena.

Got another one! Brother Bethor, chapter ancient of the Dark Angels. Had model and rules but has disappeared from DA fluff.

Well, he's a daemon prince known for his habit of phasing out of the battlefield so... honestly I'd add him to the list. He appeared in the first 3rd ed. CSM codex with both model, fluff and rules. Then he was promptly forgotten, GW-style, for 15 years or so, before getting beheaded in that audio drama.

Also the part about Squats being wiped out by Tyranids has been inconsistent, specially since the 6th ed. rulebook listed them again as alive and kicking. They will never, ever get rules or models from GW again, but it seems at least current canon has retconned their demise.
