So I like to theme my armies. With the cool new overlords I decided to try Green stuff for the first time. And with that a first project blog(ish).
Comments and help are very appropriated as I am neither a very good painter and a total newbie when it comes to modelling.

But well the theme is davy jones from pirates of the caribbean minus tentacles plus bioshock. Painting plans are for heavy rust on the metal parts and then a decaying letter for the cloth parts. This is my first time using greenstuff so some help and tips would be great. The thing on the sword is meant to be some 'undersea moss'. Have plans for adding corals but they come already painted so I will attach them once the model is painted.

Here are the first shots of some finished models. One have a hat that is too big and the freehand diving helmet didn't go that well I think.

So thoughts and ideas? Also should I keep diving helmets little here and there or should I try to get it on as many as possible?

I currently have my hands on one frigate. Nothing crazy planned though. Just some coral, seamoss, barnacle and such. No major conversion for the first one just adding some details.
As said I have no previous experience so I will wait before doing anything major.

I would suggest not building the bottom fins of the ship, add some Add green stuff water and put it in there, a water ship instead of a sky one

I am unsure about the sand part of the bases. What do you guys think? Is it just me or is there something I should do about it?

I'd use like the finest sand you could get, and then put a layer of water effects on it like they are in tidal pools or coming up the beach. maybe some seaweed, driftwood, etc on there.

Yeah I am trying to do that but having trouble sculpting them.
