In an offensive list you're better off just grabbing Kabalites in Venoms or Scourges..

Corsair Reavers are a bit too defensive for this list and Skyreavers are more a screening force.

I would stick to the Kabalites and see if there's any way to work in a transport for them.

I do have 2 Venoms for 2 out of the 3 units of Kabalites. I haven't missed the 3rd Venom as the foot unit tends to camp on backfield objective of mine anyway.

I also find it a great deal that the Stock Venom is cheaper than a Stock Vyper, but comes with -1 to hit it, 5++ save and troop transport.

I have been enjoying a lot of success with this revised list so far and also enjoy playing it more than the earlier version.

I do kind of miss the Reapers, but the Spears have really helped plug that gap, whilst also being a great WotP target and providing me with more objective grabbers and more manoueverability and adaptability.

Shining Spears are one of the hidden gems of the 8th Edition Index. I should really grab some myself at some point.

On paper Harlequin Skyweavers look better, at 18pts per wound and -1 to hit them compared to Spears 22pts per wound They also have a larger threat bubble with their Shurikan Cannons. And the extra attack in melee each. And at 3 wounds each they are more resilient to both 1 damage and 2 damage weapons and pretty good against D3 damage weapons too, all of which are more effective against the 2 wound Spears.

However, the Shining Spears firepower has surprised me, having twice the overall firepower at equivalent pts, and in melee they are also quite effective. 3+ Armour is also better. I find what edges it for me is the synergy with the Autarch Skyrunner for the re-rolling to hit. Doom too with all those extra Shurikan shots.

Ultimately I'd prefer having 4 Spears than 3 Skyweavers, though with the wraithfighters Concealed Slyweavers really would be tough to take down outside of Mortal wounds.

I will prob play test the Skyweavers some more but Spears just feel better so far.

I would certainly suggest getting some if you can, especially if you are not running Ynarri where Skyweavers might also be tempting.

The shining spears are most effective at laser lance range which gives them the edge. Also on the charge they are streets ahead of the skyweavers. Tho skyweavers are obviously more effective in the subsequent round of combat. And that's not even taking into account the exarch rerolled wounds.
Also, conceal only effects the shining spears, ditto the autarch bubble, and fortune if need be.
Skyweavers barely get a run in harlequin armies this edition unfortunately.
