Oh nice still wish that trait on the character could be taken on multiple characters

Just a thought, not sure if this is any good

If your already using separate detachments you might as well cherry pick forgeworlds to match them, depends on if the codex specifies that your entire army has to be from one Forge world.

So a 6+ FNP that only works with the last wound? Ok, that confirms that Forgeworld's Dogmas are gonna be weaker than chapter/legion tactics because they apply to everything in the army, including vehicles, knights, etc...

This seems like it's jumping to conclusions. It's entirely possible that they're just placing an inappropriately high value on the 6+ save against fleeing. Or maybe the thought process was just: "Robots and Dunecrawlers are already in a really good spot and don't need the help".

Yeah the problem is that you need to survive the charge, because you can't get within 1" then shoot.

In theory, good - assault 3 shooting with the enemy at -1 toughness is ok. But... what's charging 10 Skitarii and not killing them fairly quickly?

I think the idea is that you are the one charging. They're trying to push assault vanguard, which would be cool if it actually works but I'm not holding my breath for it.

Also, it's silly to say that FW tactics are going to be weaker than Chapter/Legion Tactics when this would still be far superior to the Black Legion tactics if it only worked on infantry period, lol.

that then assumes you survive two turns of combat. Before the shooting into combat is even an issue. Good idea on paper but that trait and the dogma needed to switch places

I actually really like the potential fleeing bonus. It makes Rangers and Vanguard a little better at screening. That said I don't want them just screening because I liked using them offensively.

Still, not a bad bonus at all and the warlord trait is solid. Want to know what the specific Strategem is for them though.

I thought the 8th Edition rules improved them enough that I bought 10 Fulgarites. I've only played them in one game so far but they absolutely destroyed a unit of Necron Flayed Ones.

I like to keep them off the table at the start of the game. Since the most common tactic I see is keeping your gun line back most opponents try for a second or third turn charge into Onagers and Robots to stop their shooting. Fulgarites then coming on and counter-charging usually will make short work of the unit and then you have a unit of screeners with a 3++ save.

I then became intrigued with the Corpus Priests coming in late and shooting units in my backfield. I bought 10 of them but have not used them ii a game yet.

Are you talking about the HQ thing? If so, a bare-bones TPD is 135pt. A bare-bones TPE is 52pt.

That means we can actually take a second detachment without a huge tax or a battalion for that matter. It may not be what we wanted, but it doesn't hurt. I know I will be using it to enable a second detachment for sure, even if it is just me using him to pump wounds back into my vehicles.

Doesn't change the fact that it didn't add a Skitarii HQ.

There's nothing that really is grabbing my attention outside of the Forge World perks. It's a wasted opportunity.

They also have their own lines of command that are the ones who answer to the Priest in charge of the overall force...but you would know that being such an avid fluff junkie, right?

So why is it that we can't have a Skitarii HQ? What possible reason is there for us NOT to have gotten one with the Codex?
I could have devised three or four units for the Skitarii side alone going off the way that they did the Primaris, yet GW couldn't?

The only, in my opinion, reasonable conclusion as to why is because of the whining that was made by people about how "we needed it all in one book!".

Actually, you're missing more than a "midlevel commander". You're missing what would effectively be the Skitarii equivalent to a "Company Commander".
