Again, per the usual, worthless forgeworld trait.

Also the deepstrike strat is not useful.

The execution shooting strat would be ok, if destroyers were not vastly over coasted. So unless they get cheaper, no one is going to waste points on them to use them with robots. Potential to be good, but unlikely they will fix points

Really like this Forgeworld.
Deep Striking as massive unit of Kastelan Robots with fists in my opponents batteline seems like a awesome thing to do.

Seriously, if you think the Deep Strike stratagem isn't completelly game changing, I don't know what to tell you. We had these main problems:
1) low mobility
2) very predictable lists
Suddenly, both of these are fixed.
ONE CP. just ONE CP and you melt any non character unit you want. Literally. You point and click and the unit disappears.

The Deep Strike trait isn't useful? Were you dropped on your head as a child or something?

They do not get the alpha legion/raven guard stratagem exactly, they give the unit normal deepstrike rather than the more unique deployment option of those armies.

Elimination volley looks interesting. It's cheap, benefits two units, both units can be loaded down with dakka, and their biggest weakness is the paltry 4+ bs on both units. It'd make me consider running a unit of destroyers alongside some kastellans.

Edit: I'm not sure I see what the fuss is about the stratagem. It isn't bad by any stretch, but I'm not seeing anything that amazing you can do with it. Kastellans still take a turn to enter dakka mode assuming you deepstrike a data smith as well (also hits on a 5+ that turn? Does deepstrike count as movement for heavy weapons?). I can see some usage with vanguard using plasma, but honestly that's about it. Nothing else grabs me.

You would also no longer have Gets Hot on the destroyers if you decide to supercharge the plasma cannons.

And even though it was part of the Lucius preview, it's available for any Forge World.

For ad mech normal deepstrike is better. You dont want to deploy before the first battle round and go second 9.01" from the enemy. You want to drop in and be able to

Rumor is that the knights get either adeptus mechanicus or <forge world> or both keywords

So yea if thats the case, you deep strike that knight

Oh dear I think you might be right. That's... an issue.

Also I forgot about the shooty electro priests, they also probably like this stratagem.

Because its still not as good as Mars? So this is what happens when babies get their teat taken away?

Congratulations, you can ignore -1 AP. Mars has cover, so pretty much the same and another ability about every turn.

And the above mentioned OMG YESS DEEPSTRIKE BREACHERS PRIESTS AND RUSTALKERS!!11 *fap fap fap* Is new, but isnt great. You buy a big unit of priests. They still have to charge, or you shoot, and they still wont kill a ton and die next turn from either being wiped out, or wiped out via moral tests.

Breachers are still crapo. Baring a big points decrees, its not worth it for them to get into melee.

Ruststalkers. They "could" do a lot of mortal wounds, maybe. but again, got to get in. Melee is terrible in this edition. Proven fact in tourneys. Better shooting you have, the better chance youll win. So no, getting one single unit in your army able to deepstrike isn't all that good, since you will be forced to take a detachment just to use the ability, because as always you will want to be Mars.

Sorta yeah, but most of our shooting is long ranged enough you can hit turn one regardless. It helps vanguard and corpus priests, who are the short range shooters, but beyond that doesn't do a lot. You don't want rustalkers sitting a turn when they more than likely flub their charge, same with staff priests. I suppose melee kastellan are okay with their long range flamers and durability at least.

How about using one of the most point efficient units in the game - shooty priests to unload 80+ shots into anything you want.

If Knights can't be teleported, I'm not sure what you really want to use the stratagem on other than corpuscariis. But those do pretty well -- this circumvents their cripplingly short range. Probably you don't want to use it on fulgurites, since charging after a deep strike is really unreliable, but it may be worth it if you're often going up against armies where you'd be able to kill something turn 1 if you do make the charge. Melee robots have to make a hard charge and then can't change their protocols for two turns. Vanguard just aren't shooty enough.

You're just describing the problems with close-combat units. And units who deep strike and hope for a first turn charge. I know you're used to 7e where you got a free bonus to your charges, but now you're more in line with the rest of the game. It's a risk we all have to take when deep striking and charging. Welcome!

Is the restriction of 1 stratagem per phase apply during deployment? so you can only use the deepstrike stratagem for one unit since you can only use it once?

There's no such thing as a "deployment phase". There's no limitation on the number of times you can use stratagems before the game starts.

To people saying I can't place more than 1 unit in deepstrike - EHHHHHHHHHHHHHH wrong. You can spam stratagems in non-phases. And Deployment isn't a phase.

Edit: actually there are no restrictions. Feel free to place half you stuff in deepstrike

I legitimately feel like this argument only ever comes from the die-hard Cult Mechanicus players and is quite frankly why we're stuck in this situation where Skitarii players got boned because Cult/War Convocation players complained loudly about "having to buy three codices for one army".

Most people just want to play an Ad Mech army, you know, the faction that has existed in 40K from the beginning. The separation was made for marketing reasons, and you're probably the only person in the world who wholeheartedly bough it. The fiction of 'two separate factions' was so thin, that even the Skitarii starter box includes a cult HQ. Sure, it would have been nice to throw a bone to those people who want to play pure Skitarii (I'm saying 'those' here, but in reality it is probably just you) and include a Skitarii Aplha Primus or some such, but that didn't happen; though it might in the future based on what they said on the subject.
