Serious non-troll reply: No.
It's ridiculous that because of the whiny War Convocation players and their insistence upon " WE NEED ONE BOOK! WE NEED ONE BOOK!", my army got rolled into an army I have no interest in fielding and it's ridiculous that GW couldn't even toss the pure Skitarii players (however few of us there might have been--I'm convinced that there were a fair few, they just didn't say much because well...they were content) a bone in the form of a "Cohort Commander" HQ choice or by giving us Alphas/Princeps as HQs with Auras tied to whatever unit type they came from.
Putting it bluntly:
You will not have a "pure Skitarii army" when you're playing counts-as. That's not how a pure army works.

Right, they could have given you a cohort commander but didn't. That was their choice, and that choice was not the same decision as "put them in one book"

It's also been, to a rather unspoken angle, that tournament players are cancer when it comes to the AdMech and that GW listened to the whiners who love to try to play up the "fluff" for their War Convocations when in reality they just were chasing the meta.
You can keep repeating this all you want. It doesn't make it factual to keep slamming that argument down given that most people who wanted to combine the two were people who've known the Skitarii as various forces that serve the Admech and having them together is indeed fluffy.

As much fun as it is reading Kan complain about Skitarrii for the past 3 pages rather get back to the actual news part

Completely solid review honestly, and he's right: The Mechanicum red book was a good codex.
It's not a "review". It's a whinefest.
And let's face facts here, the Mechanicum red book isn't exactly good. 30k is just boring enough that it seems good.
Yeah, 30K is pretty terrible except for the Mechanicum models and their rules. I think the 30K stuff will be needed to make everyone happy about this faction. But, they will be forced to buy FW models and a FW book. And that sucks. I do think that we will get some love down the road, most factions take several codexes to be fully fleshed out. Until then, I'll just enjoy marching down the battlefield with my 12 robots.

There may be new models for AdMech coming with this
Chikout - DakkaDakka
I'm just going to leave this here as I don't think it is thread worthy. Jeremy Vetock was on the live stream just now and he mentioned that new Slaanesh stuff is coming (not soon though) he also said that the developing story will involve necron stuff happening on mechanicus forgeworlds.

Still no one except that one guy who wants separate armies? OK. Guess GW did a good thing for most people. Thanks GW, you're the best.
Anyway, I'm about done with a full summary of what is in the Codex. So you can take it and play the army right now. Only the last 2 artifact left to desciper from the video
Also I REALLY don'y buy the hype for the Servitor Stratagem. If your opponent know you have them, he'll either kill them in 1 turn or won't touch them until he can. Seems bad.

Hey look, i was nght, no Forge World key word on Knights, and no dogmas etc.
What a shock! (Not really)
Oh well, still worth running Knights as Questor Mechanicus, if only for the +1 invuln save.
Well, it will be if FW faqs it to allow their knights to be run as Questor Mechanicus/AdMech.

I did like running pure skitarii forces but I also saw the use of the cult formations and would have run stuff like the holy requisistioner along with them, it would be nice to be able to run just a Skitarii force because I did like the Scryer ship fluff etc but I just have to accept that that is not possible anymore and just work with what I've got.

I don't understand why people are shocked at AdMech playing second fiddle. The 2 main armies right now are DeathGuard and Space Marines. They are releasing Codex at a record rate already so it is just not physically possible to make everything for every army

The knights +1 Invulnerable takes a command point. Unless it is to try to deflect a volley of Lascannon hits, I really don't see the utility.

3knights + 3enginseers with the new strategems/rules is a flat upgrade to previous imperium knight lists. Take the double repair relic and pick the big repair warlord trait for ~4hp a turn. Sounds good to me.
