Hopefully Viktor_von_Domm is still active on Dakka and visiting my blog. I haven't forgotten his request to see more terrain to be worked on. I'm going to be trying to get as much of my old scratch-built terrain painted up as I can, over the next few days.

Up first, I'm calling these Imperial buildings finished. They have sat primed and not worked on for close to 10 years (it's that way for most of my terrain) I realized that I never made the roofs for the other three. At some point I should build those.

WIP

I've gotten a little paint on my three greater daemons of Nurgle.

Up next, I'm planning to work on my plethora of craters.

I was working on my craters, today. All 25 of them. I was base coating them, gluing on sand, and then spraying a PVA hard coat on top. I nearly finished all of them, but ran out of sunlight, so I have 4 that won't dry and another 4 that haven't been sprayed. Close to 10 years ago, I made them all in a variety of ways. Some have a base of foam core, some water jug plastic, and some cardboard. They where usually built up with piece of foam core, and them covered with a smear of Spackle/filler. I tested out different kinds of Spackle as well.
Here is a progress picture from late morning.

I have finished all 25 of my craters

I have also finished my 4 desert rock spires, that have been sitting as green insulation foam "rocks" for about 9 years. I originally made them for use in GorkaMorka. I don't know if the picture shows it well, but I am proud of the painting on the two more triangular rocks.

They're not great, but I am also calling my Ork junk/rubble barricades done.

All of this terrain can be seen in the terrain picture on page 1 of my blog. They haven't really been touched much since.

That's a lot of terrain, you can fill more than one table with that! Great results.

Also known as KeiserS! muette is my old name.

I also have a 3d models shop, check it out here! https://cults3d.com/en/users/keiserspandp/creations

Loving the terrain results. Thanks for the inspiration for the craters - I need to do some for my trench crusade board and I continually need a reminder to do them (For some reason I REALLY don't like prepping them.)

@muette: Thanks, muette I hope I can get some games in with them.

@blockade23: Thanks I'm happy to give inspiration. My craters were made a lot of different ways, out of different materials. Most of what I did was following the Terrain Tutor on YouTube:

I disagree with your assessment of the barricades as not great! The rock spires are an awesome fit for Gorkamorka - they almost scream Durotar! to me.

Lovely terrain burst going on here. Funny how projects can lay dormant and then one day you get more done in a few hours than you have in years.

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks so much, tzurk I never played WoW, but looking up pictures of Durotar, I'm glad to hear that they look that way to you. It is funny how things can lay dormant for so long. This flurry of terrain is for two reasons. One is my wife pointed out to me that if i go 10 years without using or working on something that she thinks it would be better to get rid of them and focus on the things that I am actively keeping up with. She kind of set it as a personal challenge for me. I don't have a record of exactly how old some of my earliest hobby creations are, but I started my blog in October of 2017. I'm going through all of the unfinished stuff from that year of my blog to either work on them or realize that my skills have grown too much for it to be worth keeping some of this unfinished stuff. Reason 2 is I may actually start getting some monthly games of 40k in, and I want it to look nice. The vast majority of my terrain has sat unpainted for 8+ years since I rarely get to play.

I've moved on from the terrain for a little bit, but will swing back around for the rest of it at some point. My current plans are to make custom bits to make my own Space marine apothecaries, make some Tyranid terrain, and make custom crashed Aquilla lander terrain to play the old starter set adventures "Battle for Macragge". I haven't shown any progress for a bit, because I'm recovering from abdominal surgery for a hernia, right now. It makes trying to craft a little inconvenient.
