But on a serious note, I'm hesitant to do any DW for my Marines since I'd have to pick a Chapter and I don't know what I should pick aside from UM or something that might lead me down a dark path of getting more and more DW

Some are part of the Chess board as Rooks, but they are also their own thing. There's a lot of overlap with my Marines project.
The Death Wing & Salamander are the Loyalist Rooks, and the Death Guard & Iron Warriors Obliterator (not pictured in this thread) are the Chaos Rooks.

But the project just keeps growing. I'm currently working on a Black Legion Predator/Rhino as my Chaos collection doesn't have a tank, while my Loyalist have a Razorback/Rhino, Dread and Landspeeder. Have to even it out a bit.

Sorry, but Black Legion are the "poster-boys" of the CSM Codex and Night Lords are more about Jump packs (which I have some models representing already).
And although UltraMarines are the poster boys of the Marine Codex, I decided to do Salamanders instead since they are more known for using Termies (aka the Fire Drakes)

If I ever decide I need a 6th Terminator, It will indeed be Deathwatch and most likely UM. But as it is, I don't have plans for another. I'll put a pin into for later

You could make a Blackshield terminator. Doesn’t exist in the rules but not sure why it couldn’t exist in the fluff.
