A study was published the other day of common mask types in terms of droplet reduction.
Basically, N95 is the best (no surprise), cotton masks are surprisingly good (some are as good as N95), bandannas do nothing, and - this is the important part - fleece gaiters actually
make it worse: they spread 110% droplets over wearing nothing. The fleece actually breaks larger droplets into many smaller ones that hang around longer.
While no one should be going to Dakka Dakka for important health info, I suspect the thread will eventually be reopened anyway when a big development happens (a vaccine) and I'd at least like to get the above in there now; even if it's a mod posting it and then locking it again immediately.
