Hey all, guess this is where I post first. Recently picked up Combat Patrol boxes for Craftworld Eldar and Orks in a bout of madness. Have some limited experience with wargaming with historicals (Dark Ages Britain) and Warmachine (Mk. I). Also a bit of Blood Bowl. Still play the (discontinued) 40k card game that FFG made.

There's no faction-specific forums, so where's the best place for beginner questions/comments? 40k General?

There aren't faction specific forums but there typically are faction specific threads for tactics. These threads are for discussing what works best for a faction with regards to gameplay and the tactics you want to employ.

If you're looking for specific help on building out an army it's usually best to make a new topic in the 40k army list and ask for feedback. People often post their Battlescribe lists there.
