Yep. We can make all-new movement trays to replace all the old ones we built up over the years so we could play games with hundreds of Skaven or Night Goblins...

Or play with people who won't give a damn about the base width. While playing a classichammer night I watched two 40K players ensuring that they were using the proper GW table dimensions for the points being played. My golden rule is to not play anyone who's on that level. My home table is 6' x 5' and having an extra 6" of deployment zone per side isn't going to break the game, so anyone refusing to play on one of those surfaces would be an easy pass. I imagine the same type of people will nitpick base size, and I'll avoid them like the plague.

Looking for dice from the new AOS boxed set and Dark Imperium on the cheap. Let me know if you can help.

I'm not changing my skaven and high elves either. If I'm going to play someone new who insists on the new base sizes (which might be a fair call if they have bigger bases), I will just widen my movement trays accordingly.

In the end, it'll depend on the smaller base side making no real difference. Which it might, balancing more models under templates with a higher attack density in melee.

I remember reading an article on Warhammer Community that for ToW, GW wanted to increase the base size so that miniatures could rank up easier. Further reading, the new base sizes will only matter if you play in tournaments. If you don't, keep the old base sizes from previous editions.

As for Skaven on 25mm rounds. I bought a bunch of movement trays that would fit a foot print of 25mm squares. This was originally suppose to be used for Oathmark. In Oathmark, all infantry regardless of army are based on 25mm squares. BUT, the author says you can base them on 25mm rounds and use movement trays. So, if my thinking is right. IF GW increases Skaven base size to 25mm squares, then the movement trays I bought should be fine to use.
