A War Transformed pre-orders are live, from Osprey Publishing.
Description:
The Great War meets the horrors of forgotten folklore in this occult skirmish wargame.
1916: A World Transformed. As the Great War raged, the Moon fell from its orbit. Seas shifted, uncovering new lands and revealing what tide and time had concealed. Long known as a potent occult power, the Moon's descent also heralded the terrifying resurgence of magic. Long-forgotten gods and spirits began to stir in hidden groves and caverns and old traditions found new strength. Soon, stone circles echoed once more with the chanting of ancient rituals and menhirs were again bedecked with wildflowers and presented with offerings of honey and blood.
1918: A War Transformed. Rival nations battle on new fronts, seeking dominance with weapons of spell, song, and sacrifice. Thrust to the surface, Doggerland, the ancient bridge between Britain and Europe, becomes a crucial battleground in the conflict. In this alien landscape, raiding parties pick through the ribs of wrecks and the ruins of lost villages, war machines festooned with totems and fetishes roll over the brittle bones of long-dead giants, and cavalry charge across plains made verdant by the vegetation returning to this new land with unnatural speed.
A War Transformed is a skirmish wargame set in a world where World War I was utterly changed by forces far beyond human comprehension. Players command small forces of infantry, cavalry, artillery, and other… stranger… troops on the Doggerland Front. Fast-paced gameplay and a tense initiative bidding system are combined with authentic folk traditions and occult philosophies of the era – it is a game of rifle and relic, of bayonet and belief, of machine gun and magic.

Make sure to also have a look at Forbidden Psalm: The Last War
I may have kickstarted this game, and still has not read it...
Oh for shame, it's a big hit in my circles
Spoiler:
Nice ! I really like the board.
Sadly I do not know many gamers interested in games outside those of Games Workshop. Of those two only one speaks English, so...

Thanks for joining the Facebook Group everyone. Last War and Turnip are on my radar too, but this one slightly edged out for me. I hope the rules are good -- no much info out there yet.

what product might you use? I ended up ordering some metal WW I German and French. I guess I'll go hard on converting terrain, the spell casters, etc. instead.
Curious if you have a plastic WW I kit you prefer?

Where is the mini range located for this, and what does this game look like in an Elevator Pitch?
WOrld War 1 Incursion/SOTTR? Is that what this is?

that's where I ordered from, so I will get it faster.
As for the Elevator Pitch question, I really have no idea what you are talking about.

I got the WGA WWI French but haven't had a chance to bash them yet. I imagine them+Frost Grave wizards would give us some interesting starters.

I'd imagine soldier wizards would be truly horrific. In what they could do. I'm down with this.

Agreed all around gentlemen. Conversion potential here, and terrain creation too.
Any terrain ideas?
And i'm thinking about Frostgrave Cultist box -- make them WW I like with third party bits, and use them as "wandering horde" looking to capture and eat your troops. Maniacal occult fused mobs appeals to me. Perhaps use a scatter die to see what direction they go each round, and must charge when applicable. I'd like to get that on the table if it works with the lore. I would only use ones with hoods or masks likely> here are a few:
Automatically Appended Next Post: Anyone in the know -- I have a question -- what size Renedra rounds bases will be suggested in the book for standard infantry? I have some Brits I want to get started on. The size in the pics looks good on Facebook. But how many mm will be the standard? Thanks in advance.

Got a nice reponse from the company about the base sizes. 25mm for standard infantry max. 25 x 50 rectangle for Cav.

Looks like a good looking batch of old school North Star....
Love to see guys like this still out here and in production!!!
Hell, I'd get a few platoons of these guys just to get a few WW1 games in. The monsters, We have some others that really need to be brought to the table, such as the WW1 zombies, or the vampire guy from SOTR, or from Gripping Beasts.
You've got a great concept, I just see that you might need to flesh it out a little more then we see here.
Desert War, We can see some dervish's or some Zombies, maybe some giant Scorpions, or Middle Eastern folklore figures.
Eastern War, We can see some Oni, some Sino Russian War and Eurasian monsters, such as the Yeti, Terracotta fighters, or Mongolian Death Worm, Maybe even Fu Manchu and his horde army, or some of that Johnny Quest Action stuff, based on Pulp.
Turkish, and Australian concepts, or even some Jungle High adventure.
Needless to say, I'll be participating, and if it comes down to it, North Star gets a couple of hundred from me in the next few of months. If anything, I have a soft spot for Pulp Gaming in the 20's- 30's...
As to terrain Ideas, You can get some trench systems, some woods, Dirt Roads, and European cottage houses, maybe a monetary set... I can see The Nun, or a couple of vampires showing up with a group of gangsters, or The Black Wolf, such as was in Brotherhood of the Wolf, and the cult that was in there, as well.
With straight 25mm, I'd recommend some of those flat bases, if anything. Pulp City had a bunch of clear ones that come to mind. Maybe even a load of those Wiz Kids clear bases. round, round, and round. S,M, and L.

It's pretentious in the worst way, overloaded with adjectives and artsy synonyms.
Example
“Quiet now Aitkens, for God’s sake,” the lieutenant hissed. Clipped vowels, their edges ground to points by years at that middling sort of school much frequented by petty officers, neatly punctured Aitkens’ expansive, swaggering drawl.

I found out the artwork for this game is by the same gent who did work for Achtung Cthulhu. I'm totally digging the book so far.
