Honestly if you told me when Age of Darkness launched that I'd be spending that much on my Heresy army I'd laugh, but here we are. Don't regret it yet though, and I pretty much don't even play.

Yep, Gert was right - I don't want to add up the cost of all of this. I paid full price for most of it, although GW stuff is a bit cheaper here in HK. I also bought quite a lot of bits from eBay, Egg Heads, Megabitz and other sites, also an expensive exercise.

I've spent quite a bit of cash on the HH models, and even have the rulebook and Liber Astartes as epubs, but strangely enough might end up never playing Horus Heresy with 28mm miniatures

All the HH stuff I have bought is for (older editions of ) 40K. I might start playing HH with LI models though!

I've got lots of Dark Angels and am making a traitor Legion and am struggling to decide between World Eaters, Night Lords, or Alpha Legion. Each one I'm torn to because they look like fun and should play differently from my Dark Angels. So far, I'm drawn more to the Night Lords - Terror Tactics, Terror Squads, etc.

It was the first titan designed in CAD and not by hand and it honestly shows. Legs and feet are so much easier than the warhound and reaver.

I may have went overboard and have to add:
3 Solar aux battlegroups, currently under construction.

3 Malcadors and 2 veletarii aswell as another Leman russ.

Earmarked budget for another 4 Aurox when it inevitably will appear.

I wish the Dracosan wasn't (supposedly) so bad. I'd probably buy a second box.

It's still cheaper to buy the box than to buy everything in it except the Dracosan.

Actually yeah you're right. Even at sprue-only ebay prices it would come out to about the same. I'll think on it.

It's only problematically bad if you decide that it needs to be equiped with a demolisher. (which was basically the standard equipment to make SA even affordable and fieldable in HH 1.0)
It's merely meh when you field it with a gravis.

They do make for great cover though for your leman russes that you will equip with vanquishers, or volkit or plasma and they carry your most efficent units beeing volkit veletarii and rifle sections perfectly.

Not sure I want to add up what what I have spent so far, given I have three separate Dark Angel Forces which can cross attach units as needed😜

Now about to start a Ironwing Army for a summer campaign. So no pressure in getting it painted 🤪

I went 3 battlegroups, 2x Tactical Command Sections and another Russ.

I loved building the sentinels and the Dracosan. The Russ is...oof. Keep earbuds handy to remove any potential excess glue as it will ruin the trim if you're not quick at removing it.

Basically 2/3 or even 2/4 of the msrp. Because I can get plastic for trade+vat only and most of the crap FW sent me was miscasted, so I got replacements and sold the crap for more than half its worth. I also scalped a lot on ebay and used the funds to buy myself some more Heresy, so it was just free money I don't count as spending from my savings/earnings It's still a reasonable amount spent though. Probably around 2-3k euros in total.

Seriously though, I have trouble counting because I bought some stuff on eBay and quite a few third-party stuff that GW for some reason was unable to provide, like, you know, Assault Marines or a variety of melee weapons or shields. I mean some of it is now available, but sersiously ... the stuff I got looks much better.

I did buy a lot of Dreads though as well as too many tanks.

So far the only things I have bought are:

2 box sets of Betrayal at Calth (still think this is one of GW's best games, and wish they had used this system for the HH).
1 Contemptor Dreadnought.

That said I have been gifted:
1 Age of Darkness box set
1 Liber Loyalists

Not a huge forces but I think it is enough.

I started around Christmas, so in the last 3-4 months I've bought:

- Age of Darkness box set (£150)
- NL Contemptor + NL Contekars + 10x NL Raptors (£150)
- Deimos Rhino + 3x Vindicators (£126)
- NL Leviathan + arms (£100)

+ air brush, paint brushes and paints for like £120? (That's a massive estimation though)

So almost £650 in a few months

Next big unit will be some recon marines but I can potentially use a lot from the AoD box and my printer for that
