What is the closest "art supply shop" product to Lahmian Medium?

I have a bunch of older GW paint pots that I need to "resuscitate" so I can continue using them. I don't want to buy the five or six pots of medium from GW, or other company "hobby" paint line, as they're generally overpriced.

Matte medium. There are many brands that are way cheaper and function exactly the same. I’m surprised anyone pays the inflated GW price for something so incredibly easy to obtain.
Liquitex and Golden are two of the best known and easiest to find brands.

Been using Liquitex myself, zero problems so far with any brand of paint I use.

It's also good for mixing your own washes and glazes, either with paints or with artist inks.

I've never bought GW's version because it's stupid-expensive, but I have seen a few videos where painters claim it's not quite the same as straight acrylic medium - probably thinned with a bit of water and/or flow improver.

Flow improver & acrylic medium & retarder are the big three additives for acrylic paint and can be bought for a decent price at any craft or art supply shop.

For reviving paints I usually stick to water first and foremost. Adding medium will make your paint more translucent.
