Started work on a Kill-team that will counts as Kasrkin and or Nightlords KT.
I think that the term "Midnight Clad" would be fitting for the Lucifer Blacks no?
The challenge? Make a set of ten minis (or more) with a unifying theme that meet canon depiction.
"Coal Black Coats" "Mirrored Full Visors" "Crackling Power Glaives" "Ornate Sabres"
At the same time I wanted them to look elite AF.

I started with some bits hunting. The advent of 3D printing really lets the kitbash nerd go wild.
I wanted the LBs to have two "bodyguards" each with powerglaives.
Pop goes the mokey had these powerglaives that would do nicely.
Then Anvil has some very cool heavy molle vests for that "tatic cool" look.
For the "mirrored visor" It had to be Dark Eldar Reaver helmets, its the only thing that has that Halo EVA look.
Some green stuff for armor and this is the results.

Next was the Lucifer Black Sgt.
I wanted him to keep the theme but with a Power Sabre and a Plasma pistol.
To get the dynamic pose I had to use a mixture of parts.
Kasrkin Backpack, Firstborn SM right arm and a Scion left arm with a falchion from the Grey Knights kit.

Of course I must give credit to what inspired me.

For the Night Lords KT proxies I needed a "Screecher" model. The CSM version has lightning claws.
I wanted my Lucifer Black version to look like a charging duelist, a master of the blade, with a Vox speaker to intimidate his enemies.
I tried two versions one with beret and one with the EVA Helm.

For Gunners, I needed a Heavy Bolter, Plasma and Melta.
I was going to use a Stormbolter from a SOB kit. But found the lovely Arbites Heavy Stubber.

Last night I worked on greenstuff for armor pieces and finished the second rifleman.
Ill leave the knee pads off this one and try a two tone on the pants when painted.
The tricky part is using styrene plastic with resin parts, getting the rifle arms lined up while using superglue is not ideal.
If anyone has a suggestion of a glue that works with resin parts and is not so "instabond"?

As any Imperial Guard Regiment, the Lucifer Blacks have sanctioned psykers. I had to come up with something that made the Psyker look sinister.
I found a Puppetswar greatcoat bit and used this as the basis for the rest.
Added a Grey Knight staff and a Kasrkin backpack.
Then a creepy skull talisman, clipped on the chestplate, for that John Blanche vibe.
This mini will be a Ventrilorkar proxy for the KT and a Sanctioned Psyker if used in Astra Militarum. (I havent played a game of 40k in years).

Looks badass, I love the name and lore behind the Lucifer Blacks, fantastic job so far on translating them onto the tabletop!

When I pictured Lucifer blacks, I always imagined them to look more modern tactical scifi rather than like the Swiss Guard, but black and in space, like some fan art has portrayed. These guys are stunning!
As an avid kit basher myself, this KT stokes my creative fires. I might steal the idea

Finished the greenstuff armor on the left arm of the Lucifer Black Duelist. (counts as Nightlords screecher). Added some gear to the Plasma Gunner, Also built the second LB Praetorian.

Well these are rad.

Started the black sprak and then the spraycan died. Have to do the rest by hand . Still they look very nice blacked out.

Got one of the Lucifer Black Praetorian almost done. I still need to add the regiment number and the cable on the halberd will get painted a dark green.

Finished the Lucifer Black Lutador.
Im not so sure about the power sword.

They look very cool.
