Today's Campaign Update:
Campaign Update: 75% Funded! Ruined City Scenery Pack Feature Day.

Hi Backers and Watchers!

75% Funded, and (as I type) within an ace of breaching the all important £10k barrier... wow!

Ruined City Scenery Pack

Today, I'd like to take a quick look the ruined city scenery pack included in boxed game pledges for the Enhanced Edition and up (Deluxe and Omega).

A non-intact city.

The Ruined City pack, in brief, consists of ten of the plastic Ruined City Sprues that we already produce, plus an extra 80mm base sprue (due to the extra ruins and objective markers that come with that sprue) all bundled at a special discounted rate.

The Ruined City sprue is highly modular - there must be at least three* different ways you can build things from it!

Objective Markers are an important part of our game system, so having a brace of them should be very useful for that. And if you already have some objective markers in your miniatures collection, then they simply make for very cool looking extra scenery pieces instead.

In total, in the Ruined City Scenery Pack, you should have more than 200 modular plastic components to build your cities from (and then crush them).

Novan and Skinner armies challenge each other, in a non-intact cityscape.

So, thank you for your support in the Campaign so far everyone, remember to tell random strangers in the street about the Kickstarter, and we will see you again tomorrow!

Ben @ TMG

Well, how else are you supposed to crush cities, hey?

Campaign Update: City Streets tiles. Standard Edition contents picture.

Hi Backers and Watchers,

For today's update, we've been taking photos of our studio scenery collection, set out on our modular plastic City Streets tiles.

A sample 4x4 table. The tiles can be arranged anew for each game, so as to have a functionally infinite number of layout combinations.

And here's a mocked-up photo that shows what the contents of a Standard Edition boxed set will look like, when placed on a 4x4 table. A higher resolution version of the photo can be viewed here.

A special Kickstarter discount deal for our City Streets tiles is available as a top-up pledge, that saves £30 versus the normal retail price.

A Novan army prepares to be overrun by a huge wave of Skinners.

Thanks for all your support so far everyone, we'll have plenty more to reveal in the coming days...

The city tiles have been around for a few years,

I think Troublemaker/Vanguard are missing an opportunity marketing them as specific for 6mm, a lot of their terrain and tiles work fine for 28mm.

I definitely agree that the street tiles would work for 28mm as well. :-)

Today's Campaign Update:

Campaign Update: Over Ten Thousand! Stress Tokens Sprue Stretch Goal. More painting by The HobbyBrush.

Hi Backers and Watchers!

Over Ten Thousand!

As of the time of writing, we're now above the all-important £10k of Funding mark. Ten down, three to go. Tell all your best friends and worst enemies to pledge to the Kickstarter, quick!

The middle week or so of a Troublemaker Kickstarter does tend to be the quietest time for pledges in our experience, so for now we'll just have a preview look at something to come later in the Campaign...

Stress Tokens Sprue Stretch Goal

We've got several Stretch Goals already announced for the Kickstarter, which add extra scenery sprues into the already-packed Big Boxed Game sets. And then at £18k, we're going to add in the Stress Tokens Sprue as well.

A photo edit showing what our Stress Markers could, and should, look like when used in the game.

Our rules system uses Stress Tokens to represent the morale of your formations - the more Stress Tokens a formation has, the lower its morale becomes, as battlefield orders become progressively less effective. Once a formation has as many Stress Tokens as it has remaining stands of infantry or vehicles, it becomes disorganised and stops responding to most order types. Once it has double the amount of Stress Tokens as it has surviving stands, it is entirely wiped out.

It is possible to reduce the Stress of a formation, by ordering it to concentrate on regrouping and reorganising. We'll discuss the game rules more fully later in the Campaign. But what this means in practice, is that it is convinient to have a way of visually showing how Stressed (or otherwise) a formation is. Stress Tokens are a quick way of doing so.

The current Stress Tokens sprue design concept has 12 small two-part Stress Tokens, and 2 large Stress Tokens. The intent would be to use the larger tokens to denote 5 Stress points, and the little tokens to denote singular Stress points.

The sprue will be cast in translucent orange tinted plastic, and we'd like to add several of them into every CityCrushers: Epic Battles boxed game for no extra charge. If we get to the right Stretch Goal level, they'll also be added into the Campaign as a top-up Pledge option.

We'd also encourage feedback on the sprue design - would you like to see changes to the Stress Tokens' design? Just like with the main Armies sprues, there will be time to change or upgrade details on the sprue before we ask our factory to produce thousands of them...

The HobbyBrush Strikes Again

Our painting hero The HobbyBrush has slung some more paint at some prototype test prints of our model kits, this time the Skinner Strike Buggy. He's fitted one with a flamethrower, and the other with a heavy machinegun.

Could everyone please say thank-you to The HobbyBrush for the cool paint jobs? Cheers!

And thank you too dear Backers, for being with us on this journey to create the best looking tiny soldiers game since sliced robot was invented.

Great idea to make the stress tokens in plastic!
