For example, the nighthaunt spearhead with the chainrasps has entirely outdated rules.

Not yet, they seem to get a new Spearhead instead. That said, the old Spearhead still works just fine within the context of the Spearhead game...

In theory the spearheads are all balanced against each other. And their rules are not necessarily the same as the rest of their army book, so might be trimmed down for balance/ease of play. So overarching changes don’t impact them.

It does make a little bit of a disconnect. But to be fair, that’s already there in spearhead. I have to doublecheck myself to see if the abilities that are on the main warscroll made it to the spearhead one. Or if something was added.

thanks guys, it just seemed like it would be odd having units with different stats(not abilities) between normal and spearhead games.
