Personally I am not happy at the change to positionals being 0-2. GW doesn't have any sort of design template for BB currently, and plenty of teams with 0-4. 4 positionals total is a bit harsh, given GW will never like the team, why hamstring it like this?

Some teams at least got compensated for having positionals reduced to 0-2. Humans for example I'm not unhappy about. But Slann and EU got the shaft with these changes. Overall I'm not a fan but at least you can play a team out of the box now so I don't have it. What's especially strange is that High Elves get to keep rocking their old roster.

Well you could previously play them out of the box. You just didn't have the full range of options for later growth. Ironically stuff like Woodies don't have the full range of starting rosters, given they need more linemen (and most teams still need a second box).

Slann were introduced in the 1987 book Rogue Trader but never became a full faction like the Tyranids.
