Ok, game I played against Tau last weekend. 1850 Meat Grinder Mission, I was the Defender. I have the list posted on the Army list section, but here's a basic rundown.
Epistolary:BP,FW, FOTA,MOH
V. Dread: AC, ML, Tank Hunter
Dread:AC, ML
Tac Squad(10)x4: PG, HB
Scout(7) SR
Bike Squad(3): PG, Meltabombs Attack Bike: HB
Dev Sqaud(8): ML(4) Tank Hunter
Pred Ann(2): HB's, EA, HKM
He had (not to familiar with Tau, so forgive me if I get something wrong)
Shas'el w/ 2 Crisis (I think)
Stealth Team with markerlight
3 Devilfish with seeker missiles, with full Fire Warrior Squads, each with markerlights
Pathfinders with 3 railguns and 2 markerlights
Hammerhead with Railgun
Hammerhead with Ion Gun
Each of us placed 4 peices of terrain, and we basically went for a city type area. One side was very open with little cover, the other side had a bunch of buildings, both table corners extremely secure area's that had defendable chokepoints. He chose the open side to deploy on...
I placed my forces as follows. Two Tac squads on the left corner, behind a building and out of LOS of everything of his. Librarian sat with them. On the other corner, I place 1 tac sqaud in that choke point location, and another in the building that created the choke point. I deployed the Devs on top of the building, with a clear LOS of nearly the whole table. My Preds, bikes, and 1 dread took the center, with my V dread taking the side with the Dev and 2 tacs. Scouts set up in a building with clear LOS of the whole table.
He set his Devilfish up, 1 on each end and 1 in the center. his Pathfinders took a building at the very edge of his table (making them mostly ineffective the entire game), and his Hammerheads set up on his right end(my left) He left his Shas'el in reserves, to drop in later.
Turn 1, I went first. Jumped the bikes forward 12 inches, rolled high on my site, and wasted half the Stealth suits. Scouts where innefectual against them. Devestators destroyed the Devilfish on their end of the table, the Preds managed to ice both others as well. One was only immobilized, and since it hadn't had a chance to move yet, it wasn't destroyed flat out. It fired a few seeker missiles the rest of the game, but for the most part did nothing. FOTA on a line up of the Stealths and a Fire Warrior squad, killing a few FW's. His turn, he managed to kill a couple scouts with his Ion gun from the Hammerhead.
I'll cut the rest short, mostly because it was simply a complete rout of his forces. He kept trying to advance, and manage to get one of his fire warrior squads into range to shoot at my two marine squads on my left flank. Unfortunately for him, that also made him close enough to shoot back. Didn't lose a single marine, but mowed down every FW I had LOS with. His Railhead was inneffective the entire game. Kept rolling a one every time he fired. His Ionhead did the most damage, taking out my Dread, and Predator. In the end, he managed to kill my bike squad, half my snipers, 1 predator, and the regular dreadnaught, leaving more then 45 models on the table. Since I only needed 1 left alive to claim victory... well, yeah.
A hollow victory, since he's still a new player, and his army list was completely ill prepared for that type of game I think.
The next game was a bit more fun. My opponet was much more experienced, and we had a pretty good grudge match going, since I stole his last victory away from him, with a shooty Marine list destroying a HtH bug list, in close combat.
I had:
Captain in Term Armor with command squad. 2 Assault Cannons.
1 Dread, AC, DCCW w/ HF.
2 Tacs (10) w/ V Sgt. PF, 2 Flamers
2 Tacs (8) w/ HB, PG
Predator w/ HB's
He had:
Shooty Tyrant w/ Venom Cannon, and Barbed Strangler I think, and 3 Guard.
Winged Tyrant (not sure what it had, didn't do anything)
8 Warrior squad, tooled for HtH
12 Genestealers
24 Spinegaunts (I think).
Fex tooled for HtH
Cleanse with Table quarters was the mission, escalation. Fluff was that I was pushing into the Ash Wastes, with orders to wipe out the Bug infestation. Digestive pools(dangerous terrain) littered the landscape with a few buildings that had not yet been torn down. I deployed around the buildings, putting my shooty tac squads in them. My Flamer squads set a box around them, with the Terms in between, ready to reinforce either line. Dread and Predator where in reserves. He set his gribblies right up against the center, preparing to rush for my center side line. First turn, I mowed a bunch of gaunts down. He moved the line forward. Second turn, I finished mowing the gaunts down, just in time for him to throw his genestealers right into my line of 10 marines. Bad stuff happens... Marines and Termies get taken down (but just 1 stealer left). Dread comes onto the table at that end, trying to save that line, but the warriors get to him, and their rending talons make him explode. The resultant explosion does manage to kill one of the warriors. The 2 remaining warriors (mowed down by my HB's) manage to assualt one of the HB squads. Tears it to shreads, but my pred comes onto the table, and devestates the remains of it. The next several rounds are spent with my Predator trying to take his Fex down as it plods across the table. By the time turn 7 rolled around (variable length) I had completely forgotten we were playing for table quarters. He controlled 1 quarter with his tyrant and gaurd, and the quarter I was in was disputed. He pulled a solid victory out of what would have been a draw had my predator been 2 inches further to the right.
