I want to do a cityfight guard army, mostly so I can combine a bunch of different models that I like into one playable army. It's probably not going to be a strong list anyway, but would people have a problem with me using grey knight rules but modeling the marines and terminators as something else? I want to use converted couger suits from the starship troopers game as terminators, and urban mammoth shock marines for the grey knights, (with urban interdicts as the ones that teleport... I think they'd be perfect).

Mostly, it'd be an excuse to use a mix of karskins and urban war viridians for guard models. The Urban Mammoth viridians are just so much cooler than the stormtroopers, and the snipers are just indisputably superior. Together, the urban war figures would d basically be my excuse for doing the army. No, it's not GW, but I was just wondering whether most people would have a problem with it.

Went digging through my old posts, and guess what? I've been hating on mat ward since before it was cool

Clarity and consistancy seem to be the main things people want, if the army looks good and fits well together that's another plus.

I say go for it.

I wouldn't care if the models looked sufficiently similar to 40k models and have similar sizes so there aren't any LOS issues. Big + bulky = terminators, etc.

Playing you in a game would be fine by me, personally. I mean, i don't care what you use to represent your models, to a certain degree.
I've known people who have used War Zone minis exclusiuvely.
It's all good for most players in a typical setting as long as, -like has been stated- things look similar. I don't want to play against people using something the size of a terminator to represent a monstrous creature, etc.

All that being said, you realize, I hope, that you wouldn't be able to use them in a GW store or at any tourney. Right?
Some players won't like it, as well.
