I'm pretty much done with the physical conversions on the first squad.  I need to greenstuff a couple of places and I may add a few more Khorne icons here and there, and the Lt. needs something.  But they're almost there.

They aren't primed yet (obviously) so constructive criticism is still useful.  Thanks

Oh my gawd, those look *fudge*ing sick! WOW!!! Just, amazing! Each one has soooo much character and personality to them. I love the lord. What do you think about beefing up his legs a little more? They look kinda nekid, but I LOVE the idea! They look hot!

Thanks for the comments, guys! MachineSlave, I was thinking about trying to put armor on the leader's legs, because I also thought they weren't quite right, I'll play around with some bits and see if anything looks cool.

Something else I'm not quite sure on- does the AC's head look too unchaotic? Should I try to give him horns or something?

They really are quite nice. And no, don't give the AC horns. If you can maybe add in some filed teeth or the like. But they look great either way.

A suggestion on the nid Warrior Legs. It looks quite good when you just cut out the foot and replace it with the hoof. And maybe do a cut in the middle of the hoof.

Excellent work. Very characterful and great bases.

Do get some smaller chainlink though! Makes them look much more in scale and formidable.

Thanks again for the suggestions. I totally agree that they need more battle damage. I have one guy whose chest I messed up a little bit when I was taking off the Imperial symbols, and it actually looked better that way! So I want to mess up their nice terminator armor a bit. As for the chains, now that I look at them with the size in mind I think that smaller probably would be better. I'll see if I can find some. As for the forth guy down, he's got a combination daemon summoning icon and power weapon- it's made from a thunder hammer arm and shaft, a chaos beastmen unit icon, and a berzerker chainsword. It's totally OTT, but I love it.

So what I've been working on lately is distressing the AC's cape (which you can't really see in the picture), because it was nice and perfect and totally wrong. And I've been adding funky chaos armor stuff to his legs. And wrapping razor wire around various things on various guys. I'm not sold on the razor wire yet, but it'll be easy to take off if I decide I don't like it.  Actually, now that I think about it, If I can get way smaller chain, I can replace the razor wire with chain and it would be way cooler.  Two birds with one stone!

Actually it'd be cool if you wrapped their fists with razor wire. Fists, shoulderpads, any part they could use to bash in close combat. Would make sense for World Eaters to turn their own bodies into weapons...

For the smaller chain: Check out your local very well stocked scale model hobby store. Several manufacturers make scale lengths of chain with 12-24 links per inch (tiny stuff!) that works great on 40k scale figs. Usually comes in three foot lenghts, which may or may not be enough for you, depending on how much you wrap around the figs. This, by the way, is *not* jewlers chain, it's specifically made for modeling, particularly naval modelling.

Thanks for the advice. After going to a few places I was able to find some much smaller chain, about half the size or smaller, that should work a lot better. Plus, it should be much better for my Dark Eldar too.

Cool.

The first one is a little insane, but the others look so -- gritty. They have that motley veteran look to them.
