Daemonhunters usually get the "weak" tag and it's true they don't stand out as a great army at the top level.

However I play in a comp environment and I just played against a list that didn't care about comp. Balanced list vs tough daemonhunters, and it's in this environment they shine.

However I would still like to know what daemonhunter experts think of this list's effectiveness.

Grey Knight Termie Master
4 Grey Knight Termies - incinerator, psycannon

Inquisitor – plasma pistol
2 Henchmen
3 Gunners – 2 meltaguns, plasmagun
Rhino – smoke

Callidus Assassin

9 Grey Knights

9 Grey Knights

Dreadnought – twinlas, dccw, incinerator

Dreadnought – twinlas, missile

Land Raider – smoke

Yeah DHs will never be a top army but if you play them well they can do quite nicely and surprise people.

I took them to a tournament a few weeks back (theres a report in the bat reps section) and did quite well with them, although it was 2000pts rather than 1500.

The main thing i found was that psycannons are essential in your units. Screw the incinerators, they're a nice weapon but you'll probably never got close enough to use. The psycannon is where its at. Even on the Grand Master as you can have a BS5 3 shot move and shoot S6 weapon then.

With the inquisitorial retinue, i went all out for plasma. If you take 2 sages, you get a re-roll so they're very nice for plugging the hole created by a lack of ap2 weaponary in the rest of the army. The other thing was the Emperors Tarot on the inquisitor.

I think the list will do ok if you're on the ball, remember all the special rules and abilities, dont make big mistakes and dont try to play too aggressively with them - they just cant put out that much killing shooting. If you play against Orks, you shouldn't lose.

I don't understand your inquisitor.

Thats sort of an expensive suicide squad.

Maybe, give him a psychic hood and psycannon. Use him as an independant fire support. Use extra points on... sorry I don't know ;-)

Ditch the land raider, biggest point sink in your force, IMHO. One lucky shot and there goes 250+ points.

I would consider using those points to take more troops, your low model count will be your biggest hurdle to overcome with this list.
