No idea- there is define buzz about it on warseer. I'd look to the first book scheduled for release that can have a dragon... so Dark Elves?

I heard a foul rumor that said that Empire could take a Dragon for their lord choice. Don't know where, don't know when, don't know what board, but I definitely heard that. FWIW.

I remember hearing or reading a rumor about a new plastic dragon that was supposed to be like the new giant in that it had all of the options with it for whatever kind of dragon you wanted to make. I have no idea whether its true or when it would come out, but I heard that.

I've heard from a very reliable source that GW plans on releasing one large general release plastic kit for WHFB every year. Last year, it was the giant, which they published rules for in WD allowing most armies to use him. Next year, it's going to be the Dragon. You will see rules allowing for most armies to use it as well. What ever month the Giant came out in this year will probably see the Dragon release next. They are standardizing release schedules, so you'll see the 2 40k army releases and the 2 whfb army releases in the same months every year. (ie every Nov, a 40k army release, this isn't an exact month, just an example)

Nice to hear...The Giant set seemed really nice with lots of options. Hopefully the Dragon will be of similar quality. Maybe then I will get my butt to a Winged Hive Tyrant convertion. Maybe... Greets Schepp himself

If the plastic dragon could be used in an Empire army that would be pro! Perhaps they could also put in some way to make it a wyvern for orks, otherwise I'm sure it wouldnt be that hard to mod . Would be an awesome centerpiece for a giant Night Gobbo horde

I hope this doesn't mean GW will completely rethink their vision of the dragon. Theirs are the best on the market by far. For me to poop on.

It will be hilariously predictable when the new dragon comes out and it's the worst one ever, but made in plastic. Sure it will have all the nifty bits to make any dragon currently available in metal, but it will cost two times as much and the detail will be clunky, soft and otherwise meh inspiring. Thankfully, Rackham seems content putting out fecking awesome dragons that kick the snot out of the competition every 6-12 months.

I shall reserve judgement till I actually see the thing No, not at dakka. Actually it's just sarcasm - in the verbal irony sense. For you see I'm actually quite hopeful that GW does a total overhall on their dragons. The current ones look ridiculous and have been long overdue for a resculpt, but if the redesign of the Giant is any indication, a new Dragon could be awesome.

Ah. The level of thinking here goes WAAY over my head, then. As long as it isn't about £50, I'll buy it....although it may be the way prices are going. Ah, the joys of youth

well, I like the new giant and a dragon like that would be awsome, but the problem is, how to make it look different for other armies. Empire and Elves shouldn't be a problem, but if you want to make a Zombiedragon you would need a whole new body and/or wings, a Wyern could be possible with a simple change of the head and tail.

one problem with a plastic dragon would be, since dragons in every army book are mounted (unless they made WD rules saying otherwise) they would have to make every differnt charecter avalidble to mount the dragon, which would mean, a bunch of chaos, new elves, new orcs (for the wavyern) new woodelves, dark elves, and so on and so forth. unless they come out with kits for each army sepertly, otherwise, they could always make the excuse to include all army vareints in the one box, and charge 100$ for the damned thing. but, thats gw for ya

I think it will come without a rider, allowing for use with any mounted figure. Im also assuming that every race will someday get a plastic "general" box similar to the orcs.

With the galaxy as large as it is the odds of the average guardsmen seeing and fighting a marine or MEQ are relatively slim. Unfortunately the guardsmen in your (and anyone else who plays IG's) army are the REALLY, REALLY LUCKY ones that fight marines ALL the time... |

It will be hilariously predictable when the new dragon comes out and it's the worst one ever, but made in plastic. Yeah, just like that horrible plastic giant they just came out with. Myself, I like to start whining and complaining after I see the model and it is crap.

Next year, it's going to be the Dragon. You will see rules allowing for most armies to use it as well. Ooh, even the Lizardmen? Now that would be cool -- a lizard mounted on a lizard. Or a Slann perched in a palanquin strapped to the back of the dragon. Or maybe a Kroxigor hero mounted on the dragon? Hey, no harm in dreaming, certain horror movies to the contrary.
