i have a few questions concerning speed freek army list. Firstly what kind of fire arc does a bolt on big shoota have is it 360 or which ever way it was assembled onto the model? Can tankbustas only ride in wartrukks. (doesnt seem to b a logical reason for this). How many battlewagons can be fielded in a freek army i heard it was 5?

As there is no model made for the bolt on big shoota the arc is that which you have modeled.
A Speed Freak army can take 1 Battle Wagon as a Heavy, but as many as choices that are allowed to take them as Transports, so your HQ and elites could all ride in Battlewagons.
As for the best HQ that is debatable. The Warboss on bike is a good choice as he can go anywere he wants, but he is not a scoring unit and can not Waaagh!, so a Power Klaw is his only weapon option. I personlay like the versatility of a Big Mek with a retinue. All I can say is go with what you like best.

Where did you get the info that bolt on big shootas are arced with what you model them? I have always played that they are 360, just like a model firing its weapon from an open topped vehicle.
im curious as this is something i was unaware of.

That is the ruling I have seen at every tournament I have attended that the question came up, which I feel makes alot of sense.

sure, but is it written in any FAQ or rule book? Not trying to be a jerk, but i would like to see that, i have a few friends that play speed freaks, and i have never seen it played that way, plus, the orcs really dont need any restrictions placed on them, they need all the help they can get.
We always treated them as turreted weapons, which to me, makes sense as well.

Rules vs realisim. Rules wise, there simply isn't anything said about them, so you really dont' have much to fall back on here. Realisim would dictate that however they are modeled would decide their fire arc. I would imagine that most would fall under the sponsoon or fixed weapon styles of fire (probably more of the sponsoon rather than the fixed). A 360 arc of fire seems a little redicilous for weapons that are bolted onto the side of a battlewaggon. While it does paint a pretty orcy picture to have an orc hanging off one side of the battle waggon so that he can point his gun back into the battle waggon, fire though all his buddies onboard, and hopefuly hit a target on the other side, I don't think it should be allowed. If the guns were put on some sort of turret, this woudl be different story though.

While it does paint a pretty orcy picture to have an orc hanging off one side of the battle waggon so that he can point his gun back into the battle waggon, hahahah, that gave me a very funny mental image. I suppose you could argue it either way, but as far as rules go, i really couldn't see how you could stop anyone from doing it. I would say that they would be treated the exact same as a model in the squad carrying a big shoota and firing it. wait, how do you treat the lasguns on a chimera? that is a pretty similar situation.

If you treated it like a model in a squad carrying a weapon you would be breaking the rules. Page 64 of the BBB: Weapons mounted on vehicles often have a limited arc of fire and may not fire on units that are outside that arc. Fixed weapons have a 90 degree fire arc from their mounting point. Like was said, the arc of bolt on big shootas depends on how you model it. I put mine on turret mounts on the front corners to give them the best fire-arc.

Man, that's the joy of Anime! To revel in the complete and utter wastefullness of making an unstoppable nuclear-powered combat andriod in the shape of a cute little girl, who has the ability to fall in love and wears an enormous bow in her hair. |
