Why heavies in pod squads?

As a rule of thumb, the designers do not hide "easter eggs" in the rules. If clever reading is required to unlock some sort of hidden option, then it is most likely the result of wishful thinking.

But there's no sense crying over every mistake;
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

Because they aren't as exhausted after the game when they only have to shoot twice.

This list would be MUCH better if you went with Cleans and Purify, and dropped the heavy for another special weapon.  So 2 squads of plasma / plasma and 2 squads of melta / melta.

Also, Heavy Flamer on a drop podded dread is PURE GOODNESS!!!

While I am painting them up as Imperial Fists, I think you are right on the cleanese and Purify.

Nids and Tau tend to be popular; so I tossed a flamer squad instead of a second plasma squad... point wise I could drop the hv flamer on the dread and bump the flamers up to plasma guns...

As a Tau player I can tell you the flamer isn't going to help you much against them, 2x plasma would be better. Against Nids, yeah, there it would help.

Question though, do you mean this to be a fun list for you to play, or also fun for your opponent to play against ? Most people don't think Pods are much fun to play against...

Take Veil of Time first to save 10 points, use that to buy extra armour on your dread. Then get like a combi-flamer for your termie sarge or bionics, just a 5 point filler, really.

Other than that, it's a solid list. Have fun.
