Don't you normally get a second force org at 4000 pts?

You get a second Force Org when you agree to use two with your opponent. Points level doesn't matter.

As a rule of thumb, the designers do not hide "easter eggs" in the rules. If clever reading is required to unlock some sort of hidden option, then it is most likely the result of wishful thinking.

But there's no sense crying over every mistake;
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

4000pt army on just one chart. I'm impressed. I've been hard pressed to do a 3500 with Marines.

I've always wondered what I'd do if I saw someone put down more then 100 gaunts onto the table... I just don't think theres an army thats shooty enough to take that thing down.

If you get to use this thing, please post a BatRep about it. I'd love to see how it turned out.

Well, for starters I would take Devourers over BS on the Tyrants any time I am not using a Choir, and even if using a choir much of the time.

Next, shouldn't your Raveners have Rending Claws?

If your going to be putting so many points on your Heavy Support fexes, may as well pick up regenerate to keep them scoring. (This advice may be suspect)

I would probably make the flyrant a choppy flyrant for taking out big nasty characters. It is the only thing in your list that can reliably do it.

The Spinegaunts should be interesting. I am curious as to whether they may be better with less of them, but with Fleshborers or possibly devourers however.

I plan on using this army against a Tau army and a Chaos army, but neither battle will be until mid-november. Dont worry Jones, i'll post a battle report (how could i not?).

Now Anarchist, I do like your idea of taking devourers over the BS for the Tyrants but there is just something that i love about the VC+BS combo that i just like, plus that combo has saved my tail in quite a few battles. Plus i like the added shooting distance just as a precaution.

In terms of Rending Claws for the Raveners, I only plan on using them for taking out the front lines of the enemy armies which will only be regular troops so i don't feel the few extra points would be worth it.

For the heavy fexes, they will be shooting from the rear with a little under two hundred gaunts between them and the enemy so i'm not worried about them even taking that much damage.

Now, for the flyrant, yes i agree that making it a choppy flyrant could make it more effective but i think keeping it with the theme of shooting would just look better.

Lastly, I like the spinefist on the gaunts, because it just lets me put that many more on the field and like i said earlier, there just gonna be like a giant wall of carnage.

I really do like the ideas though.

The biggest problem I see is Synapse.

Both Tau and Chaos have plenty of AP4 shooting to take out the warriors, and enough AP1-2 weapons to get rid of the Tyrants/Zoey, especially at 4000pts.

Once those few synapse models are gone, you're gonna be taking LD5 tests on those 200 gaunts, and that won't be pretty.

I know that synapse is low but i really can't find a way around that.  I could use some segestions on that.

I'm really wondering why you took extended carapasce and warp field. Isn't it a little redundant? You would save 50 points if you used just the warp field.(Yay! more gaunts!)

Doesn't warp field give you a invulnerable save when Extended Carapace is just normal?

As for the Synapse, drop a Carnifex on the Elite, and give yourself another Warrior Brood. Try to make them 6 and 6, so you still have a good amount of ablative wounds, and a much better Synapse support system.

You can drop the Extended Carapace on both your Tyrants, they've already got Warp Field which will cover them for a 2+ save. Secondly, your Flyrant is not good, not good at all. If you want shooty, lose the wings. If you want flappy, drop the guns. Take double-twin devourers if you want, but don't take the big guns, you're just providing the enemy with a big, juicy, vulnerable target. I can't think of a more fragile single model coming in at over 250pts.

Raveners need rending claws - assuming they get into combat unscathed, you're looking at three or four auto-wounds in the first round, compared to six extra attacks, which translates into only four extra hits, which have to both wound andget through the enemy's armour. If they don't get in unscathed, the same relative efficiency still applies.

As for your 'fexes, I'd drop the Spinebanks and Scythe tails - if you're hanging them back, you don't need to give them biomorphs that only work within 12"/in Hand-to-hand. Contigency planning is all well and good, but if your opponent's got your gunfexes locked down when you're packing 192 Gaunts, you've probably in dire straits anyway.

The spinegaunts are just plain terrifying, mind you. As a Godzilla player, I'm dreaming of the day when I have a solid rep as such, then challenge someone to play 'my nids'. Remove my elite 'fexes, replace with 70 or so spinegaunts. Would certainly give my opponents cause for concern, methinks.
