Improved Comms x2 to make sure everything drops all at once. Cut your veteran squads down to 5 guys and you'll be left with 8 points

Split up your FA Sentinels into 2 squads of 1 Sentinel. These would be great spots to put your improved comms.

Otherwise, you've got some options:

a) Add in Special Weapons Squads to your free doctrine slot, and take 2 squads with Demo Charge and Flamer x2. To get the points you'll need to cut one Lascannon squad, the power weapon from your HQ, all three dozer blades. With the couple of extra points you can get bolt pistols for your officers.
b) Another option is to take an assassin, since you've already got an Inquisitor. You'd need to cut the one lascannon squad, the power weapon from your HQ, and only two of the dozer blades for a Callidus.

Otherwise looks great!

im tempted by the improved comms actually so thats worth considering

as for the other points:

a) was considering that (tough maybe with meltas) or a cyclops team for a bit of fun. just seems like cutting a lot of useful stuff to get them

b) cant take an assasin as ive already got 3 elites choices worse luck!

any other ideas floating about?

cheers

I've never been a big fan of dropping heavy weapons; they start firing on turn 3 at best.

While you can say that you just won't drop them, they're very fragile and will be overwhelmed. It's simple math: Turn 1: 1500 points of guard vs. 2000 points of other. Turn 2: remainder+500 points of suicide squads. At best.

What you could do is get light infantry for your other doctrine choice and use the deployment bonus to increase your survivability. Darkchild and a couple other dudes around here have drop/LI guard armies and can speak more than I can (I run mech) on the subject.

cheers
