Subject: TL bolters on the bike count as a models weapon?

This weekend I played an old friend of mine and I have a Librarian mounted on a bike with a Force weapon and a bolt piston (for the +1 in CC). He claims that my Librarian can't have his force weapon with the bike because the TL bolter is 2 handed and you can only have 1 2h weapon. I point out: A) the TL Bolters would techicly be 2 2h weapons making it already Ileagal B)It is wargear that happens to have a weapon attached but is still wargear I'm pretty sure im in the right here just wanted to make sure, also why im here is it leagal to put a full harnes techmarine on a bike?

That's a steaming pile of doo-doo. Your friend is talking rubbish.
But sadly, no harness on techmarine if he has a bike. Which is a shame.

Is there a reason why a techmarine with a full harnes can't be mounted, I cant find any rules that would prohibit it

In 4th Ed, I'm pretty sure there are no longer any rules prohibiting a Techmarine with a full servo-harness from taking a bike.
In addition, I read somewhere about an FAQ released recently specifically explaining that SM Bikes are fitted with an auto-driving system, so to speak - riders may use both their H2H weapons in clos combat while the bike drives itself.

Your friend is simply wrong, the bike has twin linked bolters not the librarian. When the librarian gets into close combat you use his weapon stats (force weapon). I dont however know what to do with the pistol, IE can you fire the pistol and the TL bolters. (I definitely believe you get the +1 attack for having two weapons equipped)
Techmarine on bike is prevented I think in some of the older codexes. However, in 4th ed there is nothing stating against a full harness and bike. I'd be wary though as many opponents will think such a move is rubbish, causing unnecessary rules debates.

All this said, in the BT Codex there's an upgrade for BT Bikes, allowing them to take Power Swords (up to three of them) for 10 points. Does this mean that in CC they'll get two attacks (3 on the charge)? The Bolt Pistol and Power Sword would confer the +1 Attack bonus.
I don't mean to threadjack, but if this is true, I might just be looking at a nice new trio of bikes...

Posted By Corpsman_of_Krieg on 10/17/2006 3:25 AM In 4th Ed, I'm pretty sure there are no longer any rules prohibiting a Techmarine with a full servo-harness from taking a bike Given that the Servo Harness didn't exist before 4th Edition, I'm not sure when there WOULD have been any rules prohibiting it... I believe the Servo Harness prohibition was actually a part of the (no defunct, and never official anyway) Pete Haines FAQs on the GW boards. Bikers can take two weapons just like anyone else, unless their entry says otherwise. There was a clarification in 3rd ed that prevented it, but nothing under the current rules. And, answered int he other thread, but I'll put it here as well for completeness: BT Bikers don't get two weapons. Their weapon options replace their bolt pistol.

Insaniak thats not entirely true in the old day's there was just a servo harness, and there are rules from chapters like the BA that state you can't have a harness and other items like a jumppack (I can't remember if it said you can't have a bike or terminator armor as well). Although full servo harness wasn't mentioned, the basic techmarine servo harness was mentioned, if the servo harness is denied by a codex, so too would be the full servo harness by extrapolation.

You're thinking of the Servo ARM, not Servo Harness. The Servo Harness is a 4th edition creation.
