hey all, i haven't played since pretty much the first month of fourth edition and am itching to get back into regular play.  maybe it's nostalgia or maybe it's guilt over the six 2000pt armies in storage that i can't bear to sell.... anyways, just checking to see if the KoS is still a viable force.  in 3rd edition, it was never a combat powerhouse but more of a finesse army (as much as you can be with orks!).  how is it affected by the new vehicle rules?  i did a search of the forums and apparently the UK GT doesn't allow them; are they still legal in the US at gw stores?  thanks for any and all advice/info in advance.

Well, it isn't hurt as much as you can assault out of open topped vehicles.
However, crashing while moving fast can cause problems.

unfortunately, no bikes in my army.   looted leman russ, 2 truk mobs, 1 tankbusta and burna squad, 1 skarboy squad, 2 wartruks, boss with nob retinue, and a big mek (obviously all mounted) for 1850pts as i remember it.  the army did great in missions where the goal was not to just kill the enemy but it seems like the truks are way to fragile in 4th edition and the boyz inside will get creamed since they'll have to bail out on any penetrating hit.

If there's plenty of terrain, you can do well as you have the speed to make those long jumps between terrain pieces that can block LOS on the trukks.

If you're playing on planet bowling ball, you're hosed. On another plust for the Boyz, if you're playing Escillation, it's mostly a benefit for you.

The outriders on bikes are such a ridiculously good deal I think it's crazy not to take them man. You get orks on bikes with a 12" scout move for very very few points, and they give 5+ cover saves to dudes behind them. Can't argue with that.
