Hi, I'm kinda new here, but I thought to share a new project with you. I'm startinng a new BFG-fleet (it's actually my fourth). Beside imperial, space marines and eldar I'm now starting a Tau fleet. And as I am a big fan of anime, and especially gundam, I wanted to show it in the colourscheme. What do you think.

very cool.. i like the varied colors very tau-like. The black lining almost seems overdone, but it may just be the pic and the lighting. Overall i like it

Golden Demon standard?? I can barely paint Great Unclean One standard!

That's funny, I was going to say that the color scheme doesn't seem very Tau like to me. . .at least the Tau that the studio has painted are nearly always made up of different shades of the same color rather than a bunch of contrasting colors.

The actual paint job is very clean. I especially like the dark recesses. The model certainly wouldn't suffer from a bit more highlighting, but its nothing absolutely necessary.

The last thing I have to say is: Why use these models when the FW models are SO much better. These Tau ships look downright silly next to the FW ones IMO.

And the cost is similar. For a while, some of the tau FW ships were actually cheaper than the GW ships. Now thata gotta tell you something right there.

Well, actually I wanted (and still want) the forgeworld models, cause they are so much coller. But I got these through a firned of mine who didn't use them anymore. And instead of letting the change pass away, I took them. And yes, I wanted to stay away from the colours GW normally uses for the Tau. As I mentioned before I am a fan of anime and manga, and especially the mecha-kind. So I based my colourscheme upon movies and series like gundam, macross, robotech, etc. I use very subtle highlights. I personally don't like very visible or harsh highlights.
