If a unit of jump infantry fails a morale check and falls back towards their table edge, are they destroyed by crossfire (or whatever the word is, can't find my rulebook atm) if their fallback move takes them through an enemy unit? A person I was playing against recently argued that since they have jump packs, they fly right over enemy units, and thus not be destroyed.

Thoughts?

There you go using your ?common sense? again.

Its only if there is no way out that you get crossfire - you have to make an enclosed rodeo type thing like 'U'.
Look in the rulebook for jump-packs, AFAIK skimmers can move over enemies but jump packs can't. if the massively unlikey situation comes up that they can't just move around whatever is behind them because they are surrounded

Half right, dorn.

A unit is only destroyed if it can not Fall Back without doubling back on itself, due to being blocked by some obstruction (whether terrain or enemy models) - Page 48, "Trapped"

Jump packs allow models to move freely over other models and terrain. - Page 55, "Jump Infantry"

So yes, a unit of Jump Infantry that is Falling Back will be able to just sail straight over the top of any enemy unit in the way. They only way to trap them would be to have enough enemy models and/or impassable terrain in the way that their move is insufficient for them to land on the other side.
