As far as I know it is the same stuff as "wonder wash." You can check out Dr. Fausts Painting clinic for a recipe on how to make the stuff with whatever colors you may want. Wonder wash is incredible. ender502

To ender502 you listen. If you have access to Future Floor Wax, then your painting will raise in execution and speed. Go to Target and get a bottle, the most important ingredients to good painting - short of good paint.

Speaking of good paint, what do people think about all the new stuff on the market? The market seem saturated to me but everyone keeps releasing new paint lines... (i.e the P3 paints).

Neal asked us to try some out and sent us the black and the brown.
It's interesting stuff. It won't replace your ink but it's a god supplement, takes some experimenting to see what it works best for.
I understand it's supposed to work well with FoW, we'll be trying it out on some soon.
Cheers,

In some cases I think it's rebranded lines of existing paints (ie: Foundry's triads possibly being Coat d'Arms, which did the original citadel color nearly two decades ago). But there has always been an oversaturation of the paint market, especially when you include the old school enamels. On top of that, with the proliferation of internet sales, these companies are also no longer constrained by rack space in already crowded hobby shops. I know it took my old LFGS ages to finally start stocking Vallejo (he already carried Citadel, Poly S, Testors & Reaper and was extremely reluctant to add a fifth line). I've personally found Vallejo to be the best quality at the best price and with the greatest color variaton (220+ colors in their Model Color line) and the best metalics bar none (their alcohol based metalics are phenomenal). I was a Citadel man, but despite years of knowing of the issues with their caps, GW *still* hasn't fixed them (ok, so they made flip top bottles... which now dry just as fast and are even easier to spill when getting open. I'll pass). PollyS filled the gap for a while, especially with their military colors, but when I found Vallejo: WOW. I wound up buying the complete game color set in one go for GW stuff, but it was the Model Color line's excellent military shades that got me hooked. Just lovely stuff so long as one thoroughly mixes the pigments.

Well, look at the model kit market. There's Gunze Sangyo, Tamiya, Testors, Vallejo, and we haven't even gotten into artist oils etc.
I don't think you can have 'saturation' of the paint market. I've been switching mostly over to vallejos over the last several years, but I still prefer GW metallics and inks (except VGC smoke, and regular india inks from the art shop for my black ink), and Reaper (both the old screw-top stuff and the new masters series 'triads') have some cool aspects to 'em. If the P3s ever come in single bottles, I might pick some up, just because everything I read about 'em sounds great. But I like having a diversity of options. There are some VGC that I prefer over GW, and some VMC I prefer over both, and some Reapers I like better, etc. I'd rather be able to buy what works for me than do what I did in the beginning; paint with testors model paints and old brushes, just b/c that's what we had available.
As for Kel's: yeah, it sounds like a lot of 'wonder washes', and I'd rather just make my own (FFW is your friend). I keep a bottle of 'sludge wash' just to muck up my figs, and it works like a charm.

It's a Future Floor Wax and brown/black/whatever color you choose ink mix. I purchased some and as soon as I opened the bottle I knew it was Future Floor. It has a very distinct fruity smell. The mix itself is actually somewhat thick for my liking. Wonder Wash seems to cover a little less...so you have more control with multiple layers, etc. Honestly though, I've purchased both and I usually use my own mix of Future/Water/Ink. One battle of Future could last 50 gamers their entire lifetime for washes...plus you can decide on how heavy to make each wash. Take the advice as given in another reply, simply purchase some Future and make your own.

Vallejo paints, from my limited use of them, are awesome so far. I bought a Bone White bottle to replace my Bleached Bone, and it blends and coats great. will be getting more of those paints in the future. The dropper bottle top is brilliant.

Personally, I didn't care much for it. The bottle of brown I tried was WAY too thin for my uses. I think I'll stick with my oil paints and thinner mixing.

While droppers are much better than the ol' GW flip-top or screw-top, keep a look-out anyway. They can gum up, and if you're not careful, you'll end up with the top popping off and half your bestial brown all over the place.

Ah, if they do get clogged, never try to force it and use a pin to clear the nozzle. Doing so I've yet to have a single problem with 'em.

That, and I clean the nozzle 'tip' off with a damp cloth after each use, to keep it from gumming up in the cap (and therefore, in the nozzle).

I use the same formula but at a 50/50 mix Future/water while others use the 1:4 mix listed. To each their own! The real key is varying the amount of pigment (which can come from paint, ink or even dry pigments, though I primarily use ink & paint). With more pigment, a stronger darker wash is created, using less acts as a "filter" and several layers will create rich glazes. Future also makes a great protective glossy coat, which can in turn be made matte if you add Tamiya Flat Base. Enjoy!

Vallejo has been replacing my GW paints as they run out for the last 6 months or so now. Even though I have to drive 40 minutes one way to get them whilst my local GW store with their paints is only a 5 minute drive.
BTW: These magical wash mediums seem to be unavailable in Australia. Anyone from down under know where to get them if at all?

I believe Future Floor Finish is branded as either Pledge One Go or Kleer in Australia. Look for it in your local supergrocery store's mop supply aisle. For about $5 you'll have enough for several lifetimes of washes.
