2 more wounds than the Bloodthirster. He also has no armor save. He has less strength and cannot fly. He is 55 points less than a Bloodthirster. So he can soak lots of damage and would clear up some points for a nice DP or other HQ slot.

His arguably the worst Greater Deamon.
Only people who would use him are dedicated Death Gaurd Players because he can distract from their foot squads, but most Death Gaurd players take mechanized FA choices and let deamons be there troops.
Of course all the Nurgle Deamons are on the low end of the spectrum, every chaos player I know who has the option will never use Nurgle Deamons.

Infiltrating Broodlord

It's not so great when looked at on its own.
However, I like to field one in my DG army, simply to get a S7 Plaguesword. A daemonhost with daemon chains can hold the daemon in (unless he rolls 6 twice in a row). He gets the GUO's S7. A (hidden) plaguesword at S7 striking at iniative 4 (or S8 at initiative 5 with Furious Charge vet skill) is nothing to sneeze at. Especially vs zilla nids, wraithlords, daemon princes, etc.
The only toss-up is between Furious Charge and taking a Rhino for the DH's squad, or taking infiltrate. Add Daemonic Mutation to the host to maximize the damage potential of the plaguesword. I also give the DH and his squad all pistols, since they'll be charging and assaulting.
Plus, once the daemonhost gets killed, you get a 6-wound greater daemon with Wind of Chaos as a bonus! Sure, it'll probably go down to instability or medium arms fire (I hate pulse rifles), but it's amusing to plop down a 6-wound T6 4+(i) model on turn 5...tends to put a frown on the opponent's face.
An expensive combo but a fun one.

Even managed to kill a 600pt command squad with some Nurglings the other day (not my own).

Keep him away from force weapons and he is the best greater daemon for the points imho.

He tarpits enemy units while deamons and plague marines move in. A Bloodthirster plays itself--point it at the enemy (preferably tanks that your berzerkers can't handle) and turn it loose. A GUO requires some thought and strategy. The host needs a way to get close enough to the enemy for papa to assault when he takes possession. You need a second and maybe third wave to pile in and finish off the guys he bogs down, or he will eventually fall to attrition. Because he has no armor, his toughness and wounds are his defense.

My great unclean one always gets shot to bits whenever I used him, but them again, he managed to kill an Assualt squad and a Terminator squad within 2 turns of each other, so I don't know.

He's dirt cheap for like 6 T6 4+ save wounds. By far the best choice for a nurgle army HQ in my book. If people shoot him, let them enjoy the 160 pts and not shoot the ridiculous amount of guns it takes to kill him at the rest of your army.
