This concerns modeling, so I figured I'd drop it in here ...

I really dig the nice big round base that came out with the IG heavy weapon teams and now appears with the biggest 'nid critters.  BUT I've never been able to find it available on the GW site, nor am I totally sure it's available for bitzing at all.  I managed to get one in a trade so I could base my DP properly, as the 'Epic' big round bases GW sells seperately are too low and have no nice edges ...

  1. Is the new, biggest base available at all?
  2. If #1 is yes: Any idea what the code is?  And price?
  3. If #1 is no: Anybody have 2 or more to trade/sell me, or plan to by the New Year?

Thanks a bunch.

GW do sell the mutated version you mention - just a couple of mm thick - but yes, I've never seen the 'proper' (i.e. slottabase-thick) version available separately. I too am annoyed, as I'm trying various bases for my Nids and would like some more...

I think the new wraithlord has a new plastic base, ala the new dread when it came out. Like the dread's base, maybe this one will be available too - the dread's is $2 in the US store. BUT unlike the dread base, the WL base looks less rocky and a little more 'subtle' (read: usable for more than 1 model in an army ). Since I plan on sculpting the top of my next army's bases, the WL one could work for me ...

The WL pic we've all seen:

Getting my broom incase there is shenanigans.

If those last 2 are the ones that the sell at the GW stores, they are very different than the one that come from the IG HW teams, and carnifexes.

Those ones are solid plastic not like the slota bases that we have become familiar with.

The ones in Imriel's link definately are the 'epic' low bases, but I think Ghaz has uncovered the real deal. I'll probably order one of these "60mm Round Closed Slottabase" sprues in my next bitz order, see what I end up with

Thanks for all the help.

With the 2 different names you might be right, but they do use the same image, so I don't know.
