Hey everyone,

I'm just getting back into Warhammer 40k after a several year layoff, and I'm looking to put together a Thousand Sons army I was planning to do before I quit.  I've got a couple of squads of Thousand Sons and am trying to figure out what would be best to add for an army of 1000 points.  There are two basic lists I've drawn up so far, one with TS terminators and one without.  If you guys could give me feedback and ideas, that would be awesome.  Thanks!

Terminator List
Sorcerer Lt. w/  Bolt of Change, Power Weapon, Bolt Pistol, Meltabombs, 2 Thrall Wizards - 116 pts

4 TS Terminators, 1 Sorcerer w/ Chainfist, CCW, Daemonic Mutation - 252 pts

8 TS Marines, 1 Sorcerer w/ Gift of Chaos, Thrall Wizard - 241 pts

8 TS Marines, 1 Sorcerer w/ Winds of Chaos, Daemonic Talons, Thrall Wizard -246 pts

1 Predator w/ TL-Lascannons and Lascannon Sponsons - 145 pts

1000 pts

Non Terminator List
Sorcerer Lt. w/  Bolt of Change, Power Weapon, Bolt Pistol, Meltabombs, 2 Thrall Wizards - 116 pts

8 TS Marines, 1 Sorcerer w/  Powerfist, Winds of Chaos, Thrall Wizard - 256 pts

8 TS Marines, 1 Sorcerer w/ Gift of Chaos, Thrall Wizard - 241 pts

8 TS Marines, 1 Sorcerer w/ Winds of Chaos, Thrall Wizard -241 pts

1 Predator w/ TL-Lascannons and Lascannon Sponsons - 145 pts

999 pts

The basic premise behind the design of my army was to keep the points cost of every unit down to a minimum in order to field the maximum number of models, so that each model is worth less points on average.  Of course this is not very feasible as even the most basic troop costs 24 points. :S    Once again, I would like to thank everyone in advance for their feedback

Each of your sorcerer's should have a powerfist and the mini lascannon power.  Drop the thrall wizards from the first list to free up some points for this.
I am not sure that Thousand Sons can work all that great at low points, because the distraction of The Lord of Change and a monstrous Prince really helps them out.
Predator is defintely a good choice for some anti tank

Well, the reason I didn't pick the mini lascannon power (Bolt of Change) on the Thousand Sons squads is that in order to fire at tanks, that would waste the units' bolter shots at heavier armor.  I believe Wind of Chaos is much more appropriate for damaging infantry squads than a few Bolts of Change.  With the thrall wizards I can double up a well placed Wind of Chaos or Gift of Chaos and provide myself with either a huge reduction in enemy models or some appreciated close combat boost aswell as a Powerfist sniper.

As for powerfists, I don't think I have the points necessary to squeeze powerfists in for all of the units the way I have this list set up.  I'm counting more on my Sorcerer Lt. to have a huge number of wounds to soak up in close combat while he cuts enemy units up.  It might be better to use the Terminator list since the Sorcerer in that squad has a powerful 4 attacks per turn protected by some of the most difficult to kill units in the game.  If I use terminators and deepstrike then that would definitely distract the enemy a great deal.  If not, I think just making good use of cover should help me get with in close range.

Thanks for the feedback!
