I had thought this was covered but when searching couldn't find anything.

Can marker drones attached to a squad of Stealth Suits move in the assault phase after they shoot?

Me would thinks yes because the wording in the BGB just notes that jet packs get to move during their assault phase, no-where does it note that it constitutes an assault move or an assault and it doesn't follow all the normal restrictions that assault moves have on them (IE: engaging enemy models)

Drano doesn't exactly scream "toy" to me.

My take on the RAW is that ANY models equiped with a jet pack may make their assault move during the assault phase without restriction. The only thing that would prevent them from doing it is if they are using it to actually launch an assault (yeah right). Pinning, and being locked also come to mind too.

For the purposes of the situation you describe though the team should be able to remain stationary during the movement phase, then fire all weapons to full effect during the shooting phase, then make their move during the assault phase.

I was under the impression that if any non-vehicle unit for any army fires a heavy weapon (marker light counts as heavy) then it cannot assualt. This also I believe covers the Tau assualt move which still counts as an assualt move even if its away from the enemy. Being a Tau player myself I checked up on this and was told the above by GW.

If Glaive Company CO is correct then I'll hold my hands up high and say sorry. Then, after, I'll add a few marker drones to my army to catch up on what I've been missing out on because I've been informed wrongly.

Launching an assault and making the jet pack move during the assault phase are two different things. You are correct that firing a heavy weapon would exclude a unit from launching an assault. Making their assault move however is perfectly legal. Consult your own relevant rules sections though before taking this post as gospel.

Having tried this myself I really don't think this is that great of an advantage. The great thing about the stealth suits and crisis suits is that you can do that great "cha cha" move to get in and out of range/LOS during the same turn. Having to remain stationary kind of nerfs their tricky ability. Guard is my primary force though. My experience with Tau is fairly limited so maybe you Tau veterans can make that tactic work!

I would just like to re-iterate that it is NOT an assault move, it is a move during the assault phase.
