Since I had put an army up and havent gotten too much feedback. Im going to ask one of the big questions right here. I have a unit of wraithguard and a wraithlord in my army are they worth it and if not are just one of the two good to have?

I understand that Scissors can beat Paper, and I get how Rock can beat Scissors, but there's no f'n way Paper can beat Rock. Paper is supposed to magically wrap around Rock leaving it immobile? Why the hell can't paper do this to scissors? Screw scissors, why can't paper do this to people? Why aren't sheets of college ruled notebook paper constantly suffocating students as they attempt to take notes in class? I'll tell you why, because paper can't beat anybody, a rock would tear that gak up in 2 seconds. When I play rock/ paper/ scissors, I always choose rock. Then when somebody claims to have beaten me with their paper I can punch them in the face with my already clenched fist and say, oh gak, I'm sorry, I thought paper would protect you, you donkey-cave.

It all depends what else you are running. I am starting a Siam Hann army and will not have any because they don't fit the fluff or the speed. Although I think they are great units and running 2 units of 6 of them with a farseer babysitter each would probably rock.

Drano doesn't exactly scream "toy" to me.

I can't see taking Wraithguard in a list meant to be strongly competitive.

Wraithlords are very solid models and always have been. The one major strike against them is that the Heavy Support slot is precious in the Eldar list. Still, even if you take two Falcons, or give two Prisms a shot, you still can afford a Wraithlord.

I will probably paint a Wraithlord just because I think the new model is great. I don't know that it'll ever see the table.

Well so far its tied so its not helping yet ha. But if you are wondering what type of army i am running them with I posted it in the army list but just havent gotten any feedback yet.

Do you want the Wraithguard. Then take them. I wouldn't. Do you want the Wraithlord? Take it. I wouldn't sacrifice my Heavy slot though.

I don't know why you want feed back. There is already a lot of discussion of what works. If you want something that works please refer to the other threads. If you want to design your own list, do so - but don't expect others to rave and call it sweet.

If you want feedback regarding the effectiveness of your build:
First, the Eldar codex is not as strong as other codecies. If you are looking for effectiveness, there are only a few specific builds. Furthermore, the learning curve for competitive Eldar increased. Your army design is all over the place and needs to be more focused. At 1500, the major competition is Godzilla Nids, Droppod Marines, Necrons, and Daemonbomb. Build a list with dealing with these builds in mind.

You do not have enough threats in the build. A unit of banshees on foot will be easy VP. 2 Waveserpents are easy to deal with and their cargo will get one shot before they are finished.

If you want feedback regarding your build:
Play what you want. Yeah. It's cool.

Seriously though. I like wraithgaurd for specific purposes. It makes the best farseer escort I can think of.

Wraithlords have their place too, especially in COD.

I can see using WG in COD (Hello Sewer Rats!) or in a VP denial function. WLs I think are more versatile, and have a purpose even in 'regular' 40k, though there he's outshone by both the Falcon (speed) and Dark Reapers (gun platform). He is one tough nut, though, and going WL heavy with longer-ranged weapons (BL/EML) is probably still a legit options, especially when you know you're going to face either tank heavy or MC heavy armies.

Guinness: for those who are men of the cloth and football fans, but not necessarily in that order.

I think the lesson here is the best way to enjoy GW's games is to not use any of their rules.--Crimson Devil
