I typically play against MEQ:


HQ:

Autarch with Jetbike, Mandiblasters, and Laser Lance

Attaches to Warp Spiders (matches movement in Assualt Phase with 6” move). He then gains the Withdrawl skill for S6 goodness.

Elites:

6 Fire Dragons in Wave Serpent with TL Shuriken Cannon, Shuriken Cannon Upgrade, Spirit Stone, and Vectored Engines

6 Harlequin Troupe with Harlequin Kisses
Shadowseer with Harlequin's Kiss
Troupe Master with Power Weapon

Deploy in the Falcon.

Troops:

6 Pathfinders

6 Pathfinders

Fast Attack:

6 Swooping Hawks
Exarch with Skyleap and Intercept

Continuous deepstrike, grenade, then back to reserve in same turn. They come down last turn to secure the objective.

10 Warp Spiders
Exarch with PowerBlades, Spinneret Rifle, and Withdraw

Heavy Support:

Fire Prism with Shuriken Cannon Upgrade, Spirit Stone, Vectored Engines, and Holo-Field

Falcon Grav-Tank with Scatter Laser, Shuriken Cannon Upgrade, Spirit Stone, Vectored Engines, Holo-Field, Star Engines

Strategy: Falcon, Wave Serpent, and Warp Spider (with Autarch) move to enemy’s flank. Speed is the key.  The Fire Prisms and Pathfinders stay back as the anchor.

You cant use the autarch in the manner you are describing if he is attached to warp spiders. Just because they both have special forms of movement in the assault phase does not mean you can combine them. If you attach them, neither will be able to move in the assault phase unless they charge.

The six fire dragons would be better off in a falcon than a wave serpant. You might consider putting the harlequins on foot instead.

Finally, why add a 24" gun on a tank with massive range? The shuriken cannons on the fire prisms are a waste. If you just want to load points on them for VP denial purposes, put it into something that could be useful, like star engines.

Shurkin cannons are useful. You can't hide a tank all the time, and after one weapon destroyed result, I'd like another useful gun to shoot.

Why can't I combine them?  They both move in the assault phase, just different movement types.  I know there is a rule for losing skills such as Furious Charge in a squad, but I don't think it applies in this case.

I beleive characters on jetbikes can only join units with jetbikes??? any body else out there know?

For the points of the warpspiders you could take 6 shining spears with an exarch...you also gain a point os toughness

Characters on jetbikes can join as normal. There just got +1t and better movment.
