Just a straight up armored company. Every russ has improved sponsons

Commander with a russ, AT Rounds, Ace gunner, Las/plas

Tank ace with a russ, Ace Gunner, Las/plas

3 Russes with las/plas

Russ with hbX3

Demolisher with las/plas, extra armor

Bassie with Ace gunner and indirect

Bassie with indirect

So what would give this fits? Normally I'd worry about big bugs, but this has enough AP2 to take out the venom cannon and warp blast fairly quickly. Skimmers can be a problem, but there's still plenty of lascannons in the list. Drop pods might be rough, but with all this plasma I think I'd have a chance.

I think you've identified the weaknesses. Anything that can hit you before you return fire is dangerous in this context, specifically drop pods, drop troops, and tanker skimmer lists. I would also add that marine speeders will be difficult if there are multiple speeders. DE darklance heavy lists could be a pain but you'd likely tear them apart before significant damage is done.

Another issue will be the lone gunman situation where you get an errant marine who has made it through the fire. I always preferred a hellhound or ST's to deal with that without wasting Leman resources but you've enough AP to go for it.

I really like the combo of Russ with HBs and las/plas Russ's. The las/plas is excellent if you run up against termie heavy forces.

Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG

I'm thinking about armored company too.. wish I saw the list before I started my guard army.. oh well. But while I'm building it over the next 6 months or so, I can still play with the regular stuff. Anyhoo, one tank that kinda caught my eye was the Exterminator (I think) .. with the TL Autocannons..? I was thinking of going with at least 1 of them with 3 heavy bolters for tons o' shots.. and I think they're like 20 pts cheaper than a normal russ. Prolly not hard to convert either if ya got extra autocannon barrels from heavy weapon teams (I got plenty since I made all lascannon teams). I'm just starting to think about the army so I dunno how well they'd work, but something like that seems like a real good troop/swarm killer
