So how will comp be scored?

Comp is going to be scored on a rubric that you will get in your rules packet by 3 judges with the average of their scores to determine each army’s comp. In addition your comp score will only count for you overall score. Not as part of your generalship score. So if you bring a cheese army you can win there for best general, but you will not have a shot at best overall.

Would be nice to see the rubric before hand to see if it's even worth thinking about.

The goal for our tournament is for everyone to have fun. We want it to be competitive after all it is a tournament, but the main goal it that all players enjoy the two days. Our comp system is a relatively fair one to all armies. When you register you will be sent a rules packet with the comp system outlined for you.

On that note, We will start sending out rules packets by the end of the week so if you are interested in playing please go to www.wargamersguild.com and registar so we can send you your packet.

That means I won't come. If I'm not sure I could use an army that's fun for me before signing up and paying, then it's not worth it to me.

I would hate to see you not come because of our comp system.  So I sent you a copy (to the e-mail you have listed here on Dakkadakka) if you would like to send me a copy of your army I will give you a general score.  The basic rules for our comp system are if the list is balanced in what you take.  Then you should score well.

This is true for anyone wanting to come to our GT, send me a pm and I will grade you list for you.

So is there a rules FAQ that is being used there? There are alot of gray areas of the rules, or rules that people don't believe that it means what the rules says.

As for the FAQ's we will use the info set forward from GW I know that does not cover all incidents but most. Outside that It becomes; you discuss with your opponent before the game starts or call a judge over and we can give you a ruling. For the most part we play a RAW style game.

I know you don't want to make the trip here if you think this is going to be some tournament being run by five year olds and they use there own set of rules. I want to ensure you that the players up here are top notch.

Syracuse, NY

Should be a good time with a lot of tough competition. The northeast has been a good place for 40k lately.

Last years 1 and 2 from the Chicago GT will be there; I am not sure of all the merits of the players from both Syracuse and Rochester but there are a few GT winners in the bunch.

That is what I always worry about.  Especially since my favorite army is Daemonhunters, but the proliferation of special rules for them means alot of people thinking that the rules don't mean what they say because thier army doesn't have something that can do that.

What version of RAW do you use?  Are the GW board FAQ's relevant, or do you allow infiltrating statured princes?
