As stated above what the easiest way to make a legal Adeptus Arbites army????

Ive thought of using the Witch hunters list, then have IG for allies to get some tanks and what not, what could I have the 2 Troop choices be or modeled after in the list....to get a Russ or IG fast attack choice I need to take 2 troop choices from the IG list....

I dont want some IG running around with the Adeptus Arbites, fluff wise, Id say if the Arbites have come out in full force, i.e. a small army since "it" has hit the fan on the planet  the PDF, or the guard on the planet have turned traitor so....

Once again another army Idea...

Well, as you know, The WH codex gives the option to have ST squads take shotguns instead of hellguns. That's probably your best bet. Modify a bunch of immolators to be Arbite vehicles and you're good to go. Otherwise, you're looking at Marine scouts with Shotguns as your list.

Guinness: for those who are men of the cloth and football fans, but not necessarily in that order.

I think the lesson here is the best way to enjoy GW's games is to not use any of their rules.--Crimson Devil

I would think that Arbites would have access to PDF guardsmen when circumstances call for 'extreme response' or such.  Cadian models should work fine, maybe shave the side things off the helmets and paint them in black fatigues with black armor (all nicely highlighted, naturally).  Is there a unifying Arbites icon, besides the eagle?  If so, that goes on one guard pad, otherwise stick with pretty simple ornamentation - numbers and such.  Should work well for a PDF armored support force at the Arbites call.

I'd love to see an Arbites army using the Witch Hunters book.  Would be very cool, though definitely a more 'fluff' army and less razor-edged competition grade

I'm actually in the middle of building an all WH Adeptus Arbites Force.  My list relies on "counts as" and certainly wouldn't win any tournaments but it looks nice and its main purpose is to fight against a matching LatD army I'm assembling based on zombies, Chaos worshiping escaped convicts, and PDF deserters.  For my Arbites I've only done one thing of questionable legality.  I have Arbites w/ bolters "Count as" Sisters of Battle, but I play them in game without the 3+ save.  Its really more of a fluffy disadvantage if anything so I see no reason why someone would complain.

Here is what my army will look like when it is all finished.

HQ
1. Arbites Proctor (Inquisitor Lord) w/carapace armor, combi-flamer, blessed weapon.
Accompanied by three Riot Enforcers (Crusaders w/power maul + storm shield), 2 Servo Skulls, Astropath (Bound Psyker)

2. Priest w/ Eviscerator (attached to one of the Arbites squads)

Elite
1. 5 Cyber-Mastiffs (count as Arcoflagelents)

Troops
1.  Entry Team A:  Arbites Vet. Sarge w/power maul + plasma pistol.  6 Arbites w/ 4 shotguns, flamer, and grenade launcher
      -Rhino

2.  Entry Team B:  Arbites Vet. Sarge w/power maul + plasma pistol.  6 Arbites w/ 4 shotguns, flamer, and grenade launcher
      -Rhino

3.  Fire Support Team C: 6 Arbites (SoB's) w/ bolters, and 1 storm bolter

4.  Fire Support Team D: 6 Arbites (SoB's) w/ bolters, and 1 storm bolter

I might add some Arbites w/jheavy bolters to act as Retributors, but for now figured that the arbites could call on PDF support if they need heavier weapon.  This is a riot control force, and as you can see from my Zombies!!! list its a riot

2 x 30 Plague Zombies.
2 x 20 Escaped Cons (count as mutants) w/ power fist wielding bosses
2 x 5 PDF deserters w/ agitator, sniper rifle, and missile launcher
1 x 9 Zombie Dogs (count as Chaos Hounds)

I intend to model up a suitable leader for this army.  He will most likely look like the head bad guy from the Road Warrior, but with some CSM gear.  Both armies could also have access to my Imperial Guard vehicle collection, and the LatD can be supplemented with my Black Legion Troops.  My goal is to run a narrative campaign with these forces once they are complete.  I have most of the models already and am doing my best to get them all painted up.

I'm going to be playing some zombie kill team using my Arbites and the rules published on Firebase.  I will write up some reports and post them when I'm done.

WH is probably the only "legal" way of assembling an Arbites force. You could use IG with say Carapace Armour and Grenadiers but that's somewhat pushing it.

If you want a fairly balanced list of house rules, there is a Codex: Arbites out there that's pretty good. I think there's a Yahoo group devoted to it. I also have my own set of Codex: Arbites which borrows heavily from that list (although mine is geared more towards 4th ed. and includes Hive Gang "Watchmen", Militia units, and Snipers - which the other Codex does not have). If you're interested, LMK and I'll send you a copy.
