Just wondering if anyone has a checklist of rules they discuss with opponents before a game?

Drano doesn't exactly scream "toy" to me.

Whenever a new FAQ is released I usually go over the rules that will impact a game for the first month.

Always LOS rules. Always.

Plus scattering ordnance if they have it.

Before all games, I ask the following questions:

1. Line of sight, as already mentioned. Specifically the "Magic Cylinder vs True LOS" thing.

2. Terrain usage. Some people play all terrain as being area terrain for shooting purposes (ie hills), with some others being difficult terrain as well. Others play everything except forests and very few other pieces of terrain as being "WYSIWYG" terrain - if you can see over/past it, you can shoot over/past it.

3. Taking objectives. Most missions say something about scoring units being within X" of the objective (ie counters or table edges etc), but aren't always clear as to whether whole units have to be in range for it to count or not.

I then move on to army-specific questions, like Tyranids using enemy Synapse creatures, Necrons using enemy Orbs or Chaos using enemy Icons, depending on who I am facing or what army I'm using - normally the result is a resounding "of course you can't do that!". Then things like a unit of 8 Flesh Hounds not actually being able to physically fit under an Ordnance template. In all games (both tournament and friendly) I like to run through my army's special rules and peculiar wargear if they've never faced it before.

Other rules irregularities can be discussed during the game. I generally don't mind which way they go as long as their effects are applied equally to both players.

Cheexsta- # 2 and 3 are pretty much a standard for me as well.

I should bring up the demons not fitting under a template, but I've just simply cut back on how many I use (this has proven to suck, however). I may have to field the 10 Mounted Demonettes just to see how 40 Rending attacks play out.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.
