What is the opinion about this mechtau list, is it cheesy or just not effective?
It is for a tournament where most everything from all IA books are permitted, sadly  I do not own IA3 so no specials for me.
Comp is on some kind of honour system, you should not come with anything too cheesy/boring or the other players will frown.
Any suggestions to make something presentable out of this is welcome.

I think you are running way way too many toys on the vehicles.

I would run a
shas'el with plasma rifle, missle pods, fusion blaster and multitracker
3 crisis suits fireknife w/ leader and 2 sheild drones
10 kroot
10 firewarrior w/ devilfish and decoy launcher
10 firewarrior w/ devilfish and decoy launcher
Hammerhead w/ railgun and burst cannons and decoy launchers
Hammerhead w/ ioncannon and burst cannons and decoy launchers

The points are probably off by 20 but you can figure out how to fix that. More bodies at 1000pts is important.
