Tricked out LIbriarian FOD/FoA, jump pack, trimmings

3x8 tact. Las Plas/ Vet Sgt P fist, combat shield

3x DP Ven Dreds ass, hvy flamer Tank Hunters

3x HVY Las/missle Dreads

I know this is a low model count army but I want the tacs to have some resiliency.  In addition, should I take tank hunters on the dreads or is it a waiste of pts to make a rending ass cannon st 13?...seems like over kill.  And FA might be quite handy if it werent for my belief that the Hflamer will deal with much of what may be rending dont seem to much benefit from I5 dreads?  The attack is nice though.

I wanted the DSing dreads to be the venerables since I figured they would end up closest and be shrugging off more hits/damage.

I dont want to add any land speeders or assault marines.  I feel with the podding dreads I can address enemy fast movers on my terms.

Ideas?  Yeah the comp sucks but this seems to be a "fairly weak" list for a GT

Drop the Combat Shields on the Vet Sgt's, you want the free bolt pistol he already has for the extra attack.

Also as a piece of advice I've found that the 8 Man/PF Sarge/Las/Plas type tactical squad seems to look good on Paper, but in general won't do that hot, you're better off with the 6 Man Las/Plas as far as effectiveness goes.

As far as podding dreads, I'd say you're much better off with only 1 dread podding in as three is overkill and you're waiting for them to come in. They generally die after dropping in as even with Venerable they're not that great, and Tank Hunters is wasted on them IMO. Tank Hunters on a Dread with an Assault Cannon only really shine versus AV12 Skimmers (Eldar), but you're much better off using it on Terminators instead.

If I were you I'd take the Venerable/Tank Hunters combo and throw it on your Heavy Support Dreads instead as they'll be on the board to start in most games and will be taking more fire and their anti-tank shots will make better use of them than the podding ones.

Also if you can get extra armor on each dread, it's critical to get into assault with something if possible when you've only been shaken or stunned, or for the Las/ML dreads to run and hide so they can shoot the next turn as opposed to standing their and getting shot again. From the points saved on Combat Shields in the tac squads you should have the points to pull this off.
