I am having a campaign at my local hobby shop for a 1500 pt 40K and would like some critical input to this army list that I am putting together

HQ: 161 pts

Canoness with Frag grenades, Plasma Pistol, Power Weapon, Book of St. Lucius, Cloak of St. Aspiria, Jump Pack, Litanies of Faith, Mantle of Ophelia, Purity Seals

Troops: 198 pts

Battle sister squad (bolter x 7, Flamer x 1, Meltagun x 1) with Veteran Sister Superior (Bolt Pistol and CC) in Rhino with Extra Armor and Smoke

hi !

i humbly think there is too much points on the canoness. the cloak, jump pack, book, frags should be enough. consider giving her a blessed weapon, as its superior to its current confirugation.

you should consider putting bolters on SoB VSS as well as books of saint lucius. putting on a bolter means one more s4 ap5 shot when rapid firing, which is better than one extra s3 no ap attack in close combat.

HF are stricly better than flamers...

seraphim VSS should have an eviscerator, as its the only cc punch the squad can pack. s3 power weapons tend to be pretty sucky...

i would mb also specialise your seraphim squads with either the hand flamers or the inferno pistols. also, i'm not too sure how many they are in the squad, but someone posted in an earlier thread that 8 is the best squad number, as it gives you the most chances of pulling off acts of faith. also, smaller units are easier to hide behind cover...

the dominion squad could also be sub optimal, as the 4th flamer template will probably hit nothing as you will have cleared most of the unit with the first 2 (especially with divine guidance). mb another generic sister troop could be better, as its providing you more bodies.

but i'd still replace the dominions with a standard SoB squad, as if i recall correctly you are paying the flamers 2x the price of those on a basic squad. also, you can have a heavy flamer with the aforementionned squad, which you can't with the dominions. this VSS should also have the book, as for 5 pts its one of the best pieces of wargear in the game (makes all the difference between staying or fleeing in a cc)

I just don't see replacing the Dominion Squad with the regular troops, don't know if I could get the 3rd troop choice in a rhino

HQ: Drop the mantle and purity seals, get a blessed weapon
Troops: Swap out that flamer for a HF. ST5 is your friend. Why don't your VSS's have Books of St. Lucius?
FA: Seraphim--either go HF or IP, but not one of each. If you really want them to be able to tank hunt, give the VSS an eviscerator. A BOSL would also be advisable.
FA: Dominions: Sorry, not a fan. You're better off with a third Sisters squad.
HS: on the money. Consider EA and searchlights (EA to get them out of a jam, and SLs because, well, they're SLs)

please corect me if i'm wrong, but i'm pretty sure you can put as many troop choices in a rhino as you want...

I'm sorry, I meant point wise with a 1500 pt limit. I want to thank everyone for suggestions. Got some very interesting ideas. The Blessed weapon and Eviserators are in.
