Yeah, so i've been using Falcons with Firedragons for about two years now, used the hell out of warp spiders as troops for Biel Tan, pretty much have done everything that is mechanized with Eldar for about five years.

I wanted to get back to my roots and do something that will be different.

So, i'm thinking about running something like

[240] 2x Farseers, guide, doom, stones

[785] 5x 10 Dire Avengers, bladestorm, diresword

[160] 2x 5 Fire Dragons

[175] 5 Dark Reapers

[140] 4 Dark Reapers

So thats the idea, pretty much Banzai and kill stuff with 100+ shots per turn.

Later in the game the Dire Avenger Exarchs can clean stuff up in melee, hopefully.

Yeah, it can't crack a tank from beyond 12" but it should mulch infantry and be a pain in the ass.

Happy Hunting

With no delivery system, the Fire dragons are toast, especially with so few per squad. The "tons of shots" idea is cool up until something with toughness higher than 4 or 5 shows up. Run the numbers for even a bladestorm shot by one of those DA squads against your average MC, and you'll see what I'm talking about. Use all 5 at one target, and you might get some useful result; anything less, and it's worth nothing... and you've left everything else unengaged. The DA exarchs aren't a creditable threat; for the diresword to work, it has to wound, and str 3 means he struggles against T4.

A Dreadnought or a few Tornados will rip holy heck out of this army, not to mention Whirlwinds and LRCs, with little or no way to effectively respond. Eldar are way too fragile to pull off this army style, pretty much that simple.

As a rule of thumb, the designers do not hide "easter eggs" in the rules. If clever reading is required to unlock some sort of hidden option, then it is most likely the result of wishful thinking.

But there's no sense crying over every mistake;
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

Way too many heavy bolters/assault cannons out there for this army to be able to do anything. No countercharge either means that you will die to just about all other army builds out there. Sorry.

You?ve definitely given yourself a tough row to hoe. On open tables you might actually be able to deal with nids, since the reapers can put a few wounds on the big guys before they get close. But an open table is also death for your own army if you?re up against marines.

You need to mix things up a bit. One squad of reapers may be worthwhile, but they desperately want some 4+ cover save terrain to hide in. A vibrocannon battery or two would be useful anti-tank and could hide behind terrain if you have any decent amount; they?d work much better than the Dragons in this kind of army. A squad or two of Defenders could perform much the same role as the DA but also be able to offer some long ranged fire support. If you want to use DA for any kind of combat duty, a squad or two with Shimmershield/Defend Exarch can do some good countercharge work. They can tie up most dedicated assault units for quite a long time. An Avatar or Wraithlord should accompany the horde of ground troops and countercharge anything that gets close. I think the infantry Eldar list can be viable, and a good change of pace, but I don?t think that first list cuts the mustard.

What if you added in some wraith guard? They would give some needed hard hitting shots and they have the toughness to deal with bigger shots. Striking scorpions may also help. Take 20 or so to infiltrate near the enemy and create a second front. The enemy will have to deal with this threat, and it will likely buy some time for your infantry to run up, as well as deal a large amout of damage.

Orkses is never beated in battle. If we win we win, if we die we die so it don't count as beat. If we runs for it we don't die neither, so we can always come back for anuvver go, see!

Getting my broom incase there is shenanigans.

I like the army. What I would add though is some kind ofcounter asault to it.

Harleys, Witches, or Scorpions.
