Is the Torrent of Fire rule impacted in any way by LOS or range restrictions? The example I have is a unit of 8 models of which only 3 are in range/LOS of my unit. I get 5 hits on the unit. Does the Torrent of Fire rule get invoked? A RAW interpretation would indicate that no, it would not because I didn't get a number of hits equal to the models in the unit. But this interpretation is counter to a number of other mechanics in the game that say that only the models in range/LOS are affected by the shooting. I checked the Dakka FAQ and couldn't find an answer, so I am turning to the vast collective wisdom of the Dakka community for insight.... Thanks for the help!

That is an incorrect statement which leads directly to your conundrum. Only the models in range/LOS can be removed as casualties, but all models in the unit suffer from all other effects from those hits (pinning, falling back).

As you stated, torrent only comes into effect if you cause more wounds than the entire unit has models.
