I need 20 autocannons for my chaos army and have a source for IG plastic autocannons but sadly it isn't local. Has any body seen or tried to have the new plastic guard autcannons as a marine carried weapon?

If your talking about the autocannon from the Heavy weapons team, let me warn you, its not designed, at all, to be carried by a marine. Ive tried to have my guardsmen carry them, and it doesnt workout. Marines are a bit bigger, but the issue is making a guy hold a gun that is 2-3x his size in a manner in which he looks like he could be firing it. Not only that but the trigger is at the end of the gun making it difficult to have a person carry and shoot it. Id stear clear of it. My solution was necomunda heavy weapon sprues, all of which are carried by one man.

Give me a few days (once I finish my conversion) so you can see how I did it.  Labor intensive, though...

I've done it (at least to making the autocannons man-portable on guardsmen). You basically have to convert a gyro-mount - i used bits from the comm-links, and it ended up looking nice. Very Aliens Vasquez-ish.

Ive seen heavy bolters converted to Austo cannons. The barrel is extended and tweak of the magezine. but that all depends on the heavy bolter design. Ive converted my space marins scout with missile launcher (knealing one) to a austo cannon. I extended the barrel with a ork bike shooter barrel and normal ork shooter for the magezine. Its not a conventional auto cannon but i was inspired somewhat from the halo missile launcher how the two rockets reloaded.

Depends also on how chaotic you want to look - the IG weapon isn't designed to be 'carried' like a normal Chaos heavy weapon, but it looks ok as a bionic replacement for a marine's entire arm (put a ammo can in the marine's other hand). A bit of chopping to reduce the overall size also makes it look more sensible.

I've done it for emperor's children havocs a few years ago (when the cadian heavy weapon kits came out) they look damn good with their giant phallic shooty objects.

has anyone thought about the old metal IG autocannons they're smaller & have that neat magazine sticking out the top

as much as I loath to help the forces of chaos, I shall share Arnold, my guardsman carrying an autocannon.

he's not firing it, but it looks like he might be able to carry it, power armor would alleviate this a bit.

Another option, if you're feeling seriously chaotic, is to mount the IG cannon _instead of_ the marine head (and optionally put a replacement head poking out his chest armour) with the arms aiming and loading it.

keep quiet about steroids, if my guardsmen find out what's in their basic rations I might get blinded by flashlights.

You could also mound it in his chest, which would be easier to aim, and you have a top view

after looking at a both plastic ig hw cannon and metle Cadian Sentinel's cannon and the chaos sm h bolter sprue eather works better. the Cadian Sentinel's has a cilender sticking out of the side but is shorter and looks more in scale with the modle. on the other hand the plastic has the pivot on the bottom and can be easlycut and filed down and the barle shortend also the recoile suspenser looks more being carried  and not mounted on a Sentinel. all in all id go with plastic cannon and easier to work with. 

 

If you can get the Autocannons, why not just cut down the barrels and attach them to the CSM heavy bolter? You could figure out a way to attach the drum feed, I'm sure.
